Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' On Heaven's Door trailer released.
Hmm, seems weird seeing it in English what with David Hayter as Spike, but I sure wish it would be on the big screen in the UK.

Excellent. I've seen it in Japanese; I'm not going to complain about seeing it in English too.
Besides, CB is one of those rare series with great English voices. And it's one of those series that makes more sense in English...despite what the Japan-o-philes would have you believe, Japanese won't be the standard language in the future.

Ummm...I'm pretty sure David Lucas does the voice for Spike. David Hayter is the voice of Solid Snake.

Yeah, Hayter is one of the writers of the X-Men movies, and the voice of Captain America from the Spider-Man TV show.

BTW, might I say that the trailer is too Americanized for my tastes...complete with the deep-voiced "Movie Narrator Guy" that's in every damn movie trailer...

In the business, they call him "Mr. Voice". Seriously. Andy you have a point, the style seems almost too comic, or at least too unserious for the movie. I don't know if I would say "Americanized," but it certainly doesn't fit as well as it should.

Mr. Voice? Cool, thanks for that bit of info. Yeah, it would have been better if they just ported the Japanese trailer.
And don't call me Andy.

According to my sources David Hayter does the film but David Lucas does the series and yes, it is Solid Snake and a certain screenwriter, it even sounds like him on the trailer.
Faye does sound nasty though, but I was brought up on the Japanese version so they all sound funny (Ed saying blunkhead instead of baka doesn't ring right).

He only has like one line in the trailer, but it sounds like the same voice from the series to me. I've watched the entire series in English and in Japanese, and all the voices in the trailer sound the same to me. But I guess we'll have to wait for more to be sure.
And Dalton, that was just about the craziest typo I've ever had, but now I think I'm going to have to start calling you Andy, just to follow through.

Lucas and Hayter sound similar (obviously since they're supposed to be the same character) but I recall Lucas being only the series and Hayter the film.
Needless to say, I would love to see this on IMAX even more.

Aye, since it's just under 2 hours then there is no need for cuts, it would have to be the English dub though since when they had a huge animé marathon at the IMAX near me in Manchester they had to scrap any subbed films as trying to read words the size of double decker buses puts strain on your neck.

Have you seen the MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL film trailer (original not crappy American Re-release one) that takes the piss out of that? Very very funny!

Well, that's Wendy alright. And they did get all the original English voice actors. No change with Spike. Someone's got it wrong. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing that trailer on the big screen. I certainly hope they have the subbed version somewhere nearby. I'm willing to drive up to 6 hours to go see it!

You're right, Hayter isn't mentioned on IMDb anymore. It's changed, it used to say him for the film and Lucas for the episodes, weird.
Ironically, Hayter was the voice of Lupin in the English dub of those films and we all know what Lupin influenced.

No, it will be some kind of spanish+english mixture, with parts taken from french and portuguese and german, probably.
Spanish is spoken in a large amount of countries as primary language. English is spoken in a few as primary, and in many out of necessity... Japanese has what... one country? Plus it's totally incompatible with western languages

True, but japanese is the only sane language that I know of. English is evil, cruel, and scary. Grammer and pronunciation are hideous nightmares that only English teachers ever truely learn. Japanese, on the other hand, has a standard on pronunciation, the grammer is fairly easy (just remember which particle means what. Not hard at tall) and the verbs don't require congugation, like in every single Romantic language.
As to the Knocken` on Heaven's Door, its supposed to be released in Boston, so I just have to find which theater it'll be released in... shouldn't be to hard.

Heh, I'm lucky. Our anime group is just going to put the sub up on one of the auditiorium movie screens and we're watching it that way.
