Help Buying Porn

Well, as a newly minted 18 year old, I thought I'd ask the "old hands" (no pun intended) how you get by the guilt trip buying a porno mag can produce.
I mean, with the covers and everything on them, it practically announces to the whole store what you're buying, causing people to stare at the dirty old man/horny young teen buying the skin mag. So, how do you get over it?
And don't tell me the Internet. I want In Store Advice. DG_Cal_Wright already made the observation that there's no guilt in pushing the "over 18" button in the chat.

You just by the stuff. If other people are uncomfortable with it, it's their fault.

I've never personally bought porn, but my friend used to just buy his in the mid-morning at gas stations when no one was around.

uhm, buy it, and discreetly conceal the cover so as to the casual observer couldn't tell what you were buying, you know, curl the magazine in a tube

Yeah, but that's a worse guilt trip, just walking into one. Kinda like the strip club (unless you're in a group, so you can kinda hide).

Resolve your own feelings of guilt. If you have no personal sense of guilt at buying or viewing pornography, then you won't have to worry about being made to feel guilty walking into a store that sells it.

Buy your porn with PRIDE! Walk in there like you own the place, smiling, and don't worry about a damn thing. Porn shops are great and good things, hold your head up! Not a damned thing to feel guilty about.

Just act casual about it... There's nothing to be ashamed about at 18, and you're legal too; what can they do?

What if you go in there when you are only 17...like some people I know did...

Confidence is even more important when you're underage, since you want people to think that you believe you belong there, rather than making yourself look shifty and suspicious.

All the MORE reason to act like it's NOTHING. I went into porn shops when I was 17 too...

Actually, I went in after this pretty hot bartender in England thought I looked 19...even though I was in there with family and buying cokes.

As Nike says: "Just do it."

As a person who was stealing porn mags out of stores and re-selling them to other kids at the tender age of 14, it's obvious that I have no guilt or shame. Simply walk in and make the purchase like you're buying milk or something, if people look at you funny just ignore them and go about your business. If you walk in feeling guilty already you'll be all paranoid and think everyone's looking at you funny. Now, repeat this to yourself until you believe it, "there's nothing wrong with buying porn, there's nothing wrong with buying porn", then walk into the store and buy your porn with pride.

First and foremost, lose the 'guilt' of buying porn, life is short , get off as much and as often as possible. Second, buy your porn from a local quality adult entertainment emporium. If you have shaken the guilt, be confident and spend a bit of time people watching, I always find it so strange and funny that in a shop covered with books magazines, videos, leather items, and rubber penis's and vagiana's people get so self concious. Your all there for the same reason, to find a healthy and safe outlet for your own sexual urges, why act like someone is hunting you? I find it funny to watch actually, and so does the clerk at my fave shop back home. Other customers look at me like I've sprouted an extra head when I engage in some banter with her, while checking out BDSM vids(shes into it too, so she'll reccomend stuff to the people shes cool with) or a new toy for my collection. Its so funny......

Shake your guilt about buying porn. If you feel embarrassed about porn, you'll never be able to buy condoms. My former roommate hated the idea so much that he ordered them online and paid 4x as much for shipping as the actual product, even after I offered to go out and buy them for him.

Confidence. It's not like you're doing anything wrong.
Oh, and if you really want to fuck with them, get some odd shit as well. Like other magazines on the weirdest shit you can find.

Funny thing is no one cares. Just go buy the mags and you'll notice that neither the cashier or anyone in the store really care. If you're flashy about it or act strangeb then yeah. But if you just walk up, hand them the porn and buy it like you were buying the paper, no one is going to give a shit and more importantly, you will most likely never see these people again.
When I started out long ago, it helped to buy soemthing else with your porn, like a magazine or newspaper just so that it wasn't so obvious. It would probably help.

Where the Boys Aren't is perhaps the best video series there is. Buy them all. If you havethat much problem buying porn then you should stick to the swimsuit sections of Sears catalogs and your moms Victoria ecret catalogs. Although I must admit Victoria s secret catalogs fucking rule.

Victoria's Secret catalogues are awesome. Just click for a free one on the website.

Poker face. I had hangups about buying condoms, and I assume it's the same. It sometimes helps to get something else, for me, I always grabbed a bag of munchies too. But, most of all, don't get so much stuff it's obvious it's there to hide your condoms. Er, porn. It depends where you get your stash. If you get a mag from a bookstore, grab yourself a copy of Maxim, or if you want the high-class boggle, The Wall Street Journal. Or maybe a Dilbert book is more your speed.
Video porn should be intermingled with similar-format viewing material. If you're getting the DVD of No Man's Land, for example, you should not get a VHS of, say, Barney. And God Help You if you need a Beta of porn.

Man Kid, what a way to call someone out. I'll give you this one real quick. Like I said on IRC I was at the books a million earlier. I was about to buy the new playboy, but remembered my bro had it. So, I wouldn't have had guilt getting that mag. What I was more guilty of, was holding a Star Wars Insider and a Wizard Mag. I had those bitches rolled up tight. Geeks like me can stick out like a sore thumb here in Alabama. Worse than that the cashier was hot as hell. Now that's guilt. Shoulda got the porn. At least I would have walked out with some dignity.
