WWE RAW of June 7th 2010
Did ANYONE else here watch that ending?? What... the fucking fuck.
Unfortunately, it seems that "Daniel Bryan (Bryan Danielson)" has been released after some corporate honcho -- possibly Mattel or Linda McMahon's Senate campaign -- complained about the image...
EDIT: If a mod can't move this to Off-Topic, please kill the thread, with my humblest apologies.

I'm calling work on the whole firing thing.
As for the angle, it's reminiscent of the start of the nWo so hopefully it can capture some of that intensity (nWo in it's prime that is, not the bloated monster it became).

Re: WWE RAW of June 7th 2010
June 7th RAW (skip to about 7 minutes in)
TL;DW version: John Cena vs. CM Punk gets interrupted by Wade Barrett walking down to the ring, then the other NXT rookies pop up in the crowd -- followed by Skip Sheffield beating down Luke Gallows; they then surround and invade the ring, David Otunga takes out the ref... then they swarm John Cena (who threw the first punch), gangstomp him, and then take out EVERYTHING and damn near EVERYONE at ringside, before leaving, and Cena gets stretchered out.
Unfortunately it's since emerged that apparently Daniel Bryan got fired over his appearing to strangle the ring announcer with his own tie...

Well after seeing RAW get PGed it was nice seeing some violence to that extreme, but at the same time I was just like wow ... that's a bit much. And when he says they took out everything and everyone, they fucking took out EVERYTHING and EVERYONE!!! But then again, what's the point of this thread?

So WWF went over the top... uh... isn't that the point?
And was it a real firing, or was it like a 'real' firing?

Guys, it's a work. Would there be any heels left in wrestling at all if using foreign objects results in automatic terminations?

*Sheepishly* Didn't see any other WWE/wrasslin' thread, so it looked like it'd be necro to reply to any others...
I don't know if anyone here looks at any wrestling message boards, but the NXT incident (pre-firing) led to the greatest amount of passion I've seen in a LOOOOOONG time... they actually continued the angle at a FCW show on Wednesday with Christian calling out Heath Slater (who blamed him for his elimination), then of all things the MIZ turning face for the purposes of it, only for him and Christian to both get laid out and the FCW place wrecked by NXT. Hell, those of us who're interested? We're HOPING that WWE is working us!
Unfortunately general consensus seems to be that it's a legit firing; somehow he either unwittingly violated an in-house ban on using rope or other objects to choke others (blame Chris Benoit)*, or that an outside source with a lot of influence (speculation centering on either Mattel or Linda McMahon's Senate campaign) complained about the choking and his spitting in John Cena's face and forced WWE to fire Bryan... for now. (Seems the signs of a possible work may actually be signs that the E'd rather like to have him back.)
* In contrast, Heath Slater almost choked John Cena with one of the ring ropes in the center of the ring but stopped at the last moment.

Re: WWE RAW of June 7th 2010
Reading more about the matter, Danielson was pushing his luck from day one with the company, saying things on the mic that where frowned upon and taking liberties in other areas. WWE apparently have a standing policy banning strangulation moves with the exception of the choke slam ever since the Chris Benoit murder/suicide.
It's a pity because I feel that Danielson had the potential to be a huge star. He was actually teaching Shawn Michaels prior to Shawn's wrestlemania appearance, any man than can teach Shawn must be good. The problem was Danielson seems to have believed his own hype and felt that the good will of the IWC would protect him, sadly McMahon has a lot of contempt for the IWC and that showed in Michael Cole's commentary, dictated word for word by McMahon.

Given that NXT is a taped broadcast anything that he said on there was given the ok otherwise they would have just edited it out.Lord Pounder wrote:saying things on the mic that where frowned upon
And yet HHH and HBK have both pulled out the crossface, Christian's choke on the bottom rope and Cena used handcuffs to choke out Orton in their I Quit match last year. That's just off the top of my head, pretty sure there's more examples like that, so for me the 'no strangulation' thing doesn't hold much water for me, could you even class a basic sleeper as a 'strangulation move'?Lord Pounder wrote:WWE apparently have a standing policy banning strangulation moves with the exception of the choke slam ever since the Chris Benoit murder/suicide.
Recently WWE has been playing with the IWC, putting Danielson with Miz, putting Kaval/Low-ki with Lay-Cool, Cole's comments about Danielson, etc, so I'm standing by my opinion that it's work.
The only part of it that holds water for me are the comments that it's been forced by an outside party, but even then it would have be someone fairly powerful.
Say what? Sure you're not mixing that up with Danielson starting his career by training at HBK's academy? He was actually teaching Shawn Michaels prior to Shawn's wrestlemania appearance

Re: WWE RAW of June 7th 2010
Oh noes, another invasion angle? What is this in the grand scheme of Major Professional Wrestling? Like #5?
We have the WWE/ECW Invasion angle with Lawyer invading ECW and ECW counter invading a Raw, then USWA gets pulled in for a bit. Then we have the entire NWO Angle, (and the sub-angle of the WCW/NWO Black and White/NWO Red and Black), the 'LWO' angle, and finally the WCW/ECW Alliance Invasion after Mcmahan purchased WCW + ECW.
YOu also have the ocassional 'mini' angle/story of that nature. i.e Raven and 'his Nest' showing up in WCW, the 'Radicals' invading and joining WWE (Benoit, Guerreo, Malekeno, Saturn).
And let's not forgot the 'gang warfare' angles. i.e NOD, DX, DOA, Savio Vega's group.
I'm sorry, been there, seen that. Nothing new. Good way to introduce new wrestlers, but still, nothing new.
Now then, with the entire 'WWE is trying to go more realistic'.
BULLSHIT. I'm sorry, the entire NXT violates suspension of disbelief more then Wrestling should require, especially in the days of the internet.
It's obvious the NXT Rookies/Grads are WWE employees at this point. Fine, dandy. In wrestling, you want to make a name for your self, you beat the tar out of a fellow wrestler, start a fued, etc.
What the NXT angle is portraying is WAY beyond that. Beating up the Ring Crew? The Announce Team? The Refs? And trashing the ring?
Sorry, that's how you know that it's a work. That's the sort of thing even the WWE wouldn't allow if it was real. That's damage of property, and injuring alot of 'non-competitors'. The sort of thing that would result in firing if WWE was real.
Sorry, to over the top. If they stop the 'trash the area' stuff afterwards, it's forgivable. However, if it continues, I'll be yawning.

I've been asked why I still follow a few of the people I know on Facebook with 'interesting political habits and view points'.
It's so when they comment on or approve of something, I know what pages to block/what not to vote for.

He was one of Shawn Michaels' students at the Texas Wrestling Academy, alongside Paul London and Brian Kendrick.
Solauren, you think we in the IWC haven't been remembering the previous invasions and LOLing at the comparisons too?
Now just to make this funnier, crazier, or whatever: From John Cena's official Twitter:
Funny thing is, Bryan Danielson was explicitly saying, on TV, that Cole was McMahon's parrot. The problem was Danielson seems to have believed his own hype and felt that the good will of the IWC would protect him, sadly McMahon has a lot of contempt for the IWC and that showed in Michael Cole's commentary, dictated word for word by McMahon.

I am very upset to hear about the release of bryan danielson. Social networks were formed so people would have a voice, and an opinon. I Know you all have your own, theories and whatnot. I respect that. I have never asked any of you to feel a certaint way about me. But Bryan left a lasting impression on the wwe universe in a very short time, and although it came at my expense, I agree with the majority Of you who are caught off guard by this choice. I know I'm not exactly appreciated by all, nor do I care to be, but I believe what I believe. I would like bryan to come back to the wwe. I would like to sign your petition to bring him back. I was taught to stand up for what I beileve in. I tried and failed, so I could Use some help. Tell me how to sign and I will. If for nothing else, to at least have a chance to have a match with him after what was done I know that seems a bit more fair. Give me a chance to have a fair match with him, and give him yet another chance to prove that he does Belong with us. Sorry for the long message, I know I am probally way out of line, I am sorry if I have offended anyone. But like me or not That is what Hustle. Loyalty. And most importantly Respect means to me. Enjoy game 5.

Still no idea if it's a work with Cena posting all that, I thought all the twitter stuff was supposed to be in character.

Re: WWE RAW of June 7th 2010
With Cena posting that on twitter I'm now convinced that it's a work. Most likely a ploy for McMahon to make the IWC accept Cena, somthing that will happen the day my father wears a tutu and insist on being called Angelica.
As for the Shawn thing, i read on the ProWrestling app on my phone that it was Danielson who has been teaching Shawn the new submission holds he had been pulling prior to Wrestlemania.
In a way I hope Danielson is fired because I'd love to see Danielson take on Kurt Angle, on the other hand given how TNA have handled Nigel McGuinness maybe not.
