what do you think of the article?

BTW, this is a view independent of the article - Slate sucks ass, and Kynes can kiss my ass if he complains.

I have never watched this show but I consider any show/movie that is approved by the military to be propaganda. And to hava that criminal Oliver North as a guest star just reeks of right wing propaganda.

What's wrong with propaganda? The West Wing is leftist propaganda, so what's
a little right-wing militaristic propaganda?

You're assuming that we watch "The West Wing".

I've never understood that show. What the hell is so great about it? If you
want political action, just watch the damn talk shows.....

West Wing sucks, I'd rather watch Seinfeld or B5, or Stargate, Farscape, etc.

The problem with fantasy political shows like the West Wing is that you don't actually learn much about politics. This isn't bad for people hereabouts who can distinguish fantasy and reality, but I heard someone once try to give advice to a doctor-in-training because of what they'd seen on ER. Just the same, I wouldn't want to think of anyone voting because of someone someone said on the West Wing, or become a teacher so that they can sleep with Jeri Ryan (although if that's what it takes...).
