For those of you that know CmdrWilkens, his post to ASVS may be of interest.
CmdrWilkens wrote:Today at about 4:00 I was activated and still lacking a proper
computer connection (view as always my wonderful google account) I
don't know if I'll get a chance again between today and the end of the
day Saturday to say toodles temporarily at least. Anyway sorry I've
not been around and hopefully this isn't a goodbye but such is my job.
As mentioned, he is without reliable net access, so any messages for him should be posted to ASVS, not email, etc.

I think I speak for all of us when I wish him a safe return.

Definately. I certainly missed him Monday after NC State got stupid and lost to Maryland. I was expecting a big thread about it. Then I remembered I hadn't seen him in a while. I do wish him a speedy and safe return.

I believe he said he was in a bridging company. Best wishes to him and his family.

Maybe it'd be best if I do not comment in this thread...

Yeah, his unit is bridging. His deployment is going to be a long one I expect.

May he return safely, and without a significant amount of mental trauma.

I forgot to post over here, though I let the mess know, so sorry about not letting ya'll know a bit sooner but such is my life. Anyway as of right now let me state that my orders are only to report to my unit and await further instruction. For all I know I'll end up sitting in Philly for a week then get demobilized but we shall see. With luck I will be able to maintain some semblence of net access and maybe, just maybe, be able to keep everyone up to date.

Kelly, it was a great game though and I would have thrown up the thread but neh, good luck with Wake. We need you to beat them for a share of the title :)

Ted, yes probably better off.

Sea Skimmer, it'll either be a really long one or a really short one. I'm actually with the Heavy Equipment section so they are likely to either not use us at all or keep us there for a long time rebuilding things, if we go. We shall see.

Everyone else, thanks for the words of support.

Good luck Greg, and do take care. I suspect you'll probably end up base-sitting for a unit that's Over There, but if not, do remember to put your gas mask on when they tell you to, yes? We'll be thinking of you.
