I'm not sick of religious shows -

1. I don't have to watch them.
2. They're relatively rare here in Denmark.

Has anyone noticed how there are 2 god channels on sky digital now? but which is the "true" channel to god i say, since half their arguments live on the idea that someone who wasnt jesus said that he said he was the only way. maybe soon they'll realise there are more than one way to your personal spirituality, but that's wishful thinking.

I can assure you that I am neither sick or a religious show!

But what's not to like about, oh let's say, John Hagee with his finger pointing accusingly at the congregation and his bible being smacked repeatedly on the podium as he shouts, "Yer all goin' ta hell, Heee Haaaw!"

I don't believe I have ever watched one for more than ten seconds in my entire life.

I posted a link to a show called "The Atheist Viewpoint" They have some of their episodes archived. It is produced by the NPO American Atheists, who organized the Godless Americans March on Washington. Watch it, despite the extremely low budget,it is quite good. lots of religion bashing

I'm sick of religious shows. When I get home one Sunday mornings other than Weekend Today and one kids "educational" cartoon all the other channels have religous programing.

Check out broadcast tv sometime. Somehow the funddies have hit on the idea of trying to go after people who don't have access (or are too cheap :D ) to pay for tv. I get a fair number of channels just from my rabbitt ears and religious shows just saturate the channels for most of Sunday morning. Even during football season it's bad.

Hey fuckwit, maybe you got me mixed up with that nimrod Unenlightened,
but why don't you just shut your fucking yap and get out of the house
on Sunday mornings? JMFC, It's a given that a lot of channels are gonna
have religious themed crap on it on Sunday morning, for christs sake.

Ever hear of something called the REMOTE CONTROL, genius? I always
watched Star Trek: The Next Generation on Channel 20 instead of religious
crap on channel 7 every Sunday morning

The same could be said about you and your religious bashing.

No one is making you watch it, and you don't have to watch it, this little thing called 'Changing The Channel!' What a new idea!

Oh my god. I pointed out the archives of an atheistic telivision program. I used a thread title that gets people attention, considering the probability of anyone knowing about "The Atheist Viewpoint" is very low. I was not complaining. Now when people respond to the title rather than the OP that isnt my fault. Jesus Mythical christ shep. Hell I dont even watch TV more than 3 hours a week. So why dont you shut the fuck up. If you want to flame me, I will not back down from a flame-war, but you had no reason to be hostile.

I think he was talking to not only you, but the others who are complaining about it.

And again, did I ever complain, i stated that the amount of religious shows sickened me, in response to another post, doesnt mean I watch it. (unless my brother decides to be a sadistic bastard and turns the volume up so the entire house can hear the 700 club)

Also, the vast majority of people on this board, bash religion, you are singling me out why?

If it has a lot of "religion bashing", then wouldn't that make it no more mature than the religous shows it presents a counterpoint to?

Anyway, I don't watch religous shows, but I do think the people on them are quite annoying.

Mostly religious right bashing, let me clarify. And by bashing I mean going through legal decisions and and pointing out hypocritical motives

It also highlights religious fanaticism. "Only in the religious would will someone say "I dont like this paper, I dont like this papers editorial policy, I am gonna hack my neighbor to death"" In reference to the Mr. world protests in nigeria, when a christian columnist accidently insulted Mohahmed(sp)

I don't watch any religious shows. Come to think of it, I don't watch much TV at all anymore. I do like, Everybody Loves Raymond and Just Shoot Me, but besides those and the occassional Bug Bunny cartoons, I don't see many shows, religious or otherwise.

Neither do I, if I want to watch something, i will do it at my own convenience via the internet. And I will do so while doing something remotly productive with my time.

When you say that the amount of religious programming on TV sickens you, that is a complaint.

But, the same could be said about me, as I have been known to complain about the proliferation of reality TV, although that is a bit different, seeing that reality TV keeps gaining and gaining in popularity and is expanding more every day, while, religious TV is more or less at a stand still, and at a fairly low number at that.

And I didn't intend to single you out, the statement was misworded by me. It was my intention for that to be directed towards those who, had previously in this thread, had been bashing religion. Sorry for any confusion, and it was not my intention to single you out. :?

When I want spine chilling terror, I turn to Trinity Broadcasting Network. You've got Paul and Jan Crouch(she's the weepy lady with pink hair), Carl Baugh's "Creation in the 21st Century", the 700 club, Carman, Benny Hill-err-I mean Hinn, and 24 hour a day evidence that god is bankrupt. And just not morally bankrupt, either.
