Where did the phrase, "Ass handed to you" or "Ass handed to it" Come from? the first i heard of this was when someone played quake.

I would assume it comes from "kicking one's ass" or some variation thereof. I guess the idea is that you kick someone's ass so hard it falls off, and you graciously return it to him.
