[Rant] I attract bullets! (And shrapnel)

So there I am, playing America's Army, blissfully shooting away at terrorist scum with my M4, when I decide to move up through some hills to take out the enemy snipers and grenadiers. After reporting my position, loading a fresh mag, and getting ready to move again, I hear a little *tink tink tink* sound next to me. I was thinking "WTF? There's no enemies here!" just as I was exploded by a teammate's M67 fragmentory grenade. I shrugged and thought nothing of it at the time, friendly fire happens. So there I am, a few round later, in a very similar situation. I had just dispatched two foolish terrorists as I spotted a third lying on a ridge, firing on my squad's position. I bring up my sights and take aim, but just then I realize I'd run out of ammo in the last fire fight. I hastily hit my reload key as I spewed all sorts of profanity and willing the guy to stay where he was and not look in my direction. Luckily enough, the terrorist didn't notice me (it was a night mission), and stayed right where he was. I aimed again, but before I could fire two bursts, I was exploded by a teammate's M67 fragmentory grenade. The same guy, too. Now by this time I was starting to get a little peeved. So I changed my tactics, this round I just held my position behind the cover of the corner of a building, hoping the terrorists would come my way. I didn't see any combat that round - until I was exploded by a teammate's M67 fragmentory grenade. In our own fucking position. By the same fucking guy. And its not like it was intentional, the guy was just being really fucking retarded. He always by-passed the automatic "Frag out!" shout when you throw a nade, and he threw them indescriminately. He must have fired his M4 maybe three times, at most. Like the time when he shot me to death. But enough about this guy. In another round, I stayed at the building, defending it. Now apparantly one of our guys had gotten behind enemy lines and got in their "sniper spot" and taken out their sniper. I saw movement up there, so I got out of cover of the truck I was behind and whipped out my binoculars to see if he was friendly or not (I didn't know at the time). Sure enough, the second I peek out, the fricken moron shoots at his own goddamn squad's position, more specifically, me, and nearly killed me. Crikey.

OK, I feel better now...

If you've got a moron who keeps killing your own team, just shoot him out of hand. Unless by chance he's also managing to score a bunch of hostile kills.

Sniper rounds like a real retard

You think that's bad?
Once while I was playing wc3, a moronic ally had constructed towers near every friendly goldmine. He upgraded them to cannon towers, and said they were for defense. My other allies just shurgged and said 'ok' and went about there business. I had a sizable army by now, at least a group of fully upgraded frost wyrms and some necromancers for spell support.
My death knight and lich were above level 6, and my allies similarly so. But the moronic one had nothing.....except 50 towers in each of our own bases! We all chastised him by the time we got around to forming up to kill the enemy, and he reacted like a ten-year old.Anyway, we sent our armies out and slaughtered 3 of the four enemy bases in mere minutes. I had sent a shade ahead to the last base, a Night Elf one, and saw 6 chimaera roosts sitting in the back. Fearing for the worst, I build a small group of gargoyles and scouted around the map, looking for them before they reached our bases. That's when the moronic ally decided to get back at us by destroying EVERY FUCKING STRUCTURE IN OUR BASES WITH HIS CANNON TOWERS! He just selected them and clicked away.
Luckily, I had scuttled some pesants to my new expansion, where he didn't have any towers yet. Only one of my allies had his base intact;he had managed to kill the cannon towers before they did any real harm with his steam tanks. Th rest of us weren't so fortunant. And guess what? That's when the enemie's air force came swooping in to his base; wyverns, chimaeras, and even frost wyrms and gyrocopters. Apparently our enemies, before being defeated had build up and hidden a massive airforce. Once the last remaning main base was crushed, we all hired out every goblin sapper (little green suicide bomber) on the map and sent them towards the NE base. They reached it, and in a blaze of smoke and flames, blew roughly 98% percent of it up. One of my allies warped in with his Archmage and steam tanks and blasted the few remaining moonwells and ancients. But when I looked back to my base, all I saw were smoldering craters. Then, a moment later the game ended, us defeated.
If it weren't for that damn ten-year old, we could have easily won. But no, he had to take out his anger on us and blow up every thing we had.
Grrr. :x
In short, DON'T LET TEN-YEAR OLD SNOBS BUILD CANNON TOWERS IN YOUR BASE.

Any of you guys ever play AvP2? For some reason, they never thought to build a friendly fire toggle into that, so every multiplayer game I play, I get killed by my own team as much as by the bugs!
A typical situation would be like...

(Me) was killed by (Some guy)

Some guy: Sorry

(Me) was killed by (Some guy #2)

Some guy #2: Sorry

(Me) was killed by (Some guy #3)

And so on... :?

AA sucks. It's nothing but grenades.

I've also had similar stories with my reatrded human allies, whatever I played. From what I've seen, twelve year olds think that shooting your teammates in the back is REALLY funny-like, even though they are despised by both my, AND the enemy team.

Come to tell, once in Infiltration both teams started hunting two moronic PKs after they slaughtered their buddies one time too much... :D

That's just stupid of you tycho. Never allow allies to build inside your base unless they've lost there's. If they do anyway, destroy the structures before there finished. Starcraft teaches you to only allow allies n your base while they're actively moving to attack an enemy.

I agree, the grenades need to be nerfed quite a bit, but the game is still fun. When you're not exploded by a teammate's M67 fragmentory grenade... :P

All I can advise is always steer from poor typers and people who keep kicks on. The weirdest backstabbing game was when I was allied too two different groups on Diplomacy 5.02b. I said fuck it and started killing everyone.

If you know your teammates IRL, this is less of a concern. In some games, combining two sides for base defense is extremely potent.

Well that is different. Combine defenses at your base entrance isn't as bad as allowing an ally to build inside of your base, since you can turn your own guns on there's easily.

First time I played, it thought they were nuclear grenades... Tossed one into a room, and took out 5 guys at once.

Ah, good ole AA:O, its such fun.

Reminds me of the early days of Rainbow Six deathmatch at LANs where people still weren't used to the concepts of a) Team Mates and b) Realistic weapons and damage.

The game starts (Fortress game in Athletes Village), 4 man teams. One guy on our team spawned at the very back of the start area. I hear him shout "Aaaargh! People!" and he sprays a clip from an M4 across us all, killing the lot.

As for AA:O friendly fire, you needn't remind me of it. I lost a MASSIVE amount of my overall rating when on the Stronghold map I opened a door and fragged a room - AFTER signalling my intent to do so to my team. So what do they do? All pile into the room and catch the frag blast head on. Meaning that my Friendly Fire rating goes through the roof, I get booted from the match and worst of all my rating dropped significantly.

I personally love the idiots who blaze away with the SAW and have absolutely no sitiuational awareness or those that toss Flash Bangs into a room that you just cleared and reported as clear. BTW how many people do we have on this board who play AA?

Well, I do obviously as "JNeophyte". I'm a decent sniper and when I'm not one I prefer being a Rifleman, since I'm poor with the M249 and M203.
