Ayanami Rei and pie

Post by XaLEv »

So the talk of Rei and her toast over here reminded me of this. Where does this bit about Rei liking pie come from?

And perhaps it would be a good idea to move the aforementioned discussion into this thread to avoid hijacking that one any further.

Someone had it in their sig "The great mysteries of Evangelion revealed: Rei Ayanami: 'I like pie.' So there you have it."

Something like that.

I just picked up on it because it was KAWAII and Rei is KAWAII.

Pie is good, toast is good, Rei is good!

Now, the question: since you seem to like Rei so much, if you were 14 and in NERV, would you try and hook up with her?

Do you like... PIE?
"Right now we can tell you a report was filed by the family of a 12 year old boy yesterday afternoon alleging Mr. Michael Jackson of criminal activity. A search warrant has been filed and that search is currently taking place. Mr. Jackson has not been charged with any crime. We cannot specifically address the content of the police report as it is confidential information at the present time, however, we can confirm that Mr. Jackson forced the boy to listen to the Howard Stern show and watch the movie Private Parts over and over again."

I already know he dies anyway... but then everyone dies in NGE.

He says "love" too much and I personally want to kill him to be honest.

YES, I like pie, Hameru. :P

On an unrelated note, see the Eva Wars: Episode 1 trailer. It's damn good, I just downloaded the Phantom Menace teaser trailer to see which bits fit in. :)

It's not like I don't have any reading to do either, I have The Salmon of Doubt, Night Watch, The Blind Watchmaker and The Selfish Gene to finish yet I am drawn to read this fanfic.

I would, if I were 14 and in NERV. Of course, if I were 14 and in NERV, I would probably have already tried to kill Gendo Ikari, or would be plotting it.

What are The Blind Watchmaker and The Selfish Gene about?
By Richard Dawkins the acclaimed English biologist who wrote the latter in the late seventies and the former in the mid eighties, they're generally about evolution and dispelling myths about it. The Blind Watchmaker is full of arguments used to crush Fundies, The Selfish Gene was the book to coin the term "meme" to mean a piece of information like a phrase or habit or piece of music etc. that is passed on much like genes are.

Very good books if you're doing biology like me, ut also brilliant reads for laymen who want to know more about genetics and Darwin, but don't want to swallow a textbook and die of boredom.
