Favorite Final Fantasy VII Song?

Post by RogueIce »

For me, it's about even between Sending a Dream Into The Universe and the Shinra Inc Theme. I love Cid's theme, too, and SaDITU, which is basically a slow version of it, is great! Cid's theme is by far the most heroic I've heard in any game, and the slow version of it is very nice. And, of course, Shinra Theme is awesome for an evil corporation. :D

The Main Theme is probably the best main theme of any FF game. And the orchestration on Reunion Tracks is spectacular.

Aerith's theme, other than that, and the Avalanche theme.

I DLed the entire soundtrack, and I think it's awesome.

Aeris' Theme, One Wing Angel, The Prelude, JENOVA, etc...

It's all good.

The full orchestra for the Main Theme and Aerith's is VERY nice, yes. Don't remember the Avalanche one, though, have to go try to find it (what's the official title? Barret's theme perhaps??).

Just Avalanche, I think.

It sounds funny, but FFVII probably couldn't be released today, due to the fact that the heroes are basically terrorists.

Well, OK, probably it could be released today. I went a bit too far with that. But they are terrorists.

Well, that's what makes it so good, so far as I'm concerned. They're not "holier-than-thou" Warriors of Light like the VAST majority of video game good guys. Adds a human element to it, and enriches it that much more to me.

Shinra is bad and Avalanche's cause is good, but that doesn't make what they did OK. But the game doesn't pretend that it does, so that's good.

Yep, like I said before, one of the reasons I love it so much.

But please, back to the music! :D

I always had my doubts about just how bad Shinra was, anyway. Primarily because I didn't trust those damned hippies at Cosmo Canyon (yes, video game revisionism, that's how much time I have on my hands).

Well, Shin-Ra did drop that section of the "Floating Pizza" onto the entire sector below...

Yeah, that was pretty bad, I was mostly thinking about the whole "killing the planet" thing.

It just struck me as a little odd that the only people on the planet familiar with "The Study of Planet Life" were confined to a hippy colony, pretty far removed from the rest of civilization. Is Shinra so powerful that it can suppress this science, or is it just baloney?

Yeah, and Avalanche blew up the reactor, killed a bunch of people, did an untold amount of damage, and caused who knows how many deaths by killing power to potentially vital places/machines (hospitals, traffic signals, etc.).

Plus, that was President Shinra (first one) anyway. Rufus never really did any of that, the "Rule by Fear" speech notwithstanding. In fact, he seemed to do pretty well, in trying to fight WEAPON and destroy Meteor and such. And so far as executing the Avalanche crew, well, they WERE terrorists, no matter how you look at it, and they WERE Enemies of the State.

If not for Shinra then Sephiroth would have destroyed the world.

Then again, without Shinra he would have never been alive in the first place.

I don't think that the fact that the planet was dying really surprised anybody. There was a freaking HUGE blight around Midgar where nothing grew. The leaders of Midgar were already looking for something new since they didn't even consider Midgar worth repairing.

Yeah, I think I have that one along with an arranged version of Aeris' theme.

Man, the Final Fantasy series is also one of the best sources for remixes...
