I have XP and when I play moo2 for the first time after installing, it runs great. But after that, when I do certain things, like finalize a design for a ship or receive a diplomatic message, the comp freezes. It's done this multiple times.
Anyone else here with XP and moo2 care to give me some input on what could be going wrong here?

I have XP, and I have MoO2, but I've never run them at the same time
. Anyways, that's XP for you. Did you check the stupid "Run in Win95 mode" or whatever in its properties?

I believe I have. And no, it didn't fix the problem, though tomorrow I'll try again.
I wanna go annihilate the Antarans with a fleet of Doom Stars armed with Stellar Converters+death rays but my comp won't let me!!!!!

Make sure you download the
patch.

I did and my entire playing time was with that patch installed (v1.31, I think).

Hmm, don't know what to say then. I use MOO2 with that patch, on Win Xp, and I've no problems. Could be your machine...

I have run MoO2 for over a year (200+ hours) on XP without a single glitch. Are you running from the CD or copying the files and doing an install from the hard drive? I have found it to be more stable to eliminate the CD from the equation.

That's an interesting way to do it. I might have to do a reinstall as the game reads the disk from my DVD, and the spin up time will cause it to lock up and crash. Thanx for the tip.

Good point. I play only from the hard drive.
