Gustloff Suhl Reichswerk HF 15

The HF 15 was a highly unusual gun. The round contained a single charge and seven or nine 15mm projectiles, fired in a single burst a at an extremely high (36000rpm) rate.
Remind you of something

While this design sounds crap and indeed the Metal Storm system as of now needs more development, I'd hardly paint all of Nazi Germany with the same brush since a lot of what came out of there was very good engineering.

But they were desparate in the last few months as you can see.

Something being good engineering has no bearing on if its useful, some pieces of crap proved far more practical and useful then Germany's arsenal of over engineered wonder weapons. The Germans had some interesting manned rocket projects for example, with just one little problem. The pilot would sustain 20 g's for several minutes.

Actually I would say Edward "Blacbeard" Teach would be the originator, he was fond of placing several small shots with a double sized powder charge into the barrel of a smoothbore pistol. Along with his bottle gernades it was most devestating opening volley in boarding combat with other ships.
