NC St just defeated #9 Wake Forest ( Congratulations Kelly) but this was just one of many great upsets this weekend where a top #25 team lost to a unranked team. Only the USC Trojans have done it twice and few other teams have opportunities today.
#1 Arizona defeated by UCLA
#3 Texas defeated by Texas Tech
#4 Kansas defeated by Missouri
#7 Florida defeated by LSU
#8 Marquette defeated by UAB
#9 Wake Forest defeated by NC St
#10 Xavier defeated by Temple
#11 Syracuse defeated by UConn
#14 Stanford defeated by USC
#15 Maryland lost to North Carolina
#18 Wisconsin defeated by Ohio State
#19 Notre Dame defeated by St. Johns
#20 Oklahoma St. defeated byMissouri
#22 Georgia defeated by themselves
#23 California defeated by USC
*note #24 Memphis lost but was defeated by Louisville who is ranked higher
Which of these was your favorite upset and would anyone be willing to participate in an SDNet March Madness tournament? Pride and Glory to the winner of course. Id be willing to run the thing.

[college basketball rant]I have a $60,000 loan outstanding, the cost of an education at an institution that thinks it ought to be Ivy League, and charges accordingly. In the meantime, Gary Buchanon and Company get free educations because they drew the winning number in the genetic lottery. Then they go and fold up like a cheap card table in the stretch, just like Villanova teams always do. But just in case listening to the bowling night plebians crow on WIP about how their favorite glorified tech school beat the stuffing out of the Wildcats wasn't humiliating enough, Jay Wright's crew of free education asshats decide they can't summon up a quarter to make a long distance phone call (unlike Villanova residents, who cough up $.22 per minute to call outside Delaware County), and steal an atheltic department calling card PIN number, only to get caught and suspended by the NCAA. As if their going to school on my dime isn't enough, now I'm paying for their phone calls, too. And now we're not just a snob school, we're a national disgrace. God damn it. I should have gone to Princeton.[/college basketball rant]

Hofstra didn't make it, huh? Too bad. I remember last October there was some controversy over Rick Apodaca and marijuana and he got suspended from a bunch of games.

I dont know about Hofstra for sure, ive only been watching the games availiable on the west coast (time for an ESPN check)
Hofstra's season is done, an 8-21 record tends to do that. But hey I cheer for the UNI Panthers and they havent made the tournament in many years.

#22 Georgia defeated by themselves
Eh, we were more or less defeated by that little shitstain, Tony Cole. We just dealt the finishing blow by ourselves.

True but thats a whole lot of fraud to put all the blame on Cole

I agree with you, and I think that we need to accept whatever punishment the NCAA gives us (however, it was stupid to deny the clean players the chance to play in the SEC tournament).
I can assure you with certainty that Georgia is not the only place in the southeast where this sort of thing is going on. We just got caught, primarily because of a little asshole who never amounted to anything and had a grudge.

Sorry Kelly but I think Duke has it, they reaking dismantled North Carolina, a team that had beatne them a week prior, and NC St doesnt have the home court advantage.
Duke wins by twelve.
Pittsburgh and Oklahoma avoided defeat and Kentuck has so far but they still have one game left to play tomorrow. assuming Kentucky wins thats still 7 out of 10 of the top ten teams in the country who lost, and fifteen of the top twenty five. the tournament gets very interesting ya?

damn did I say twelve? I meant two.....heheheh Where the hell did these guys come from? Well if NCSt does pull this off im willing to concede defeat.
and if anyone wonders wether im a duke fan or not I prefer the University of Northern Iowa Panthers. but they get beaten early on every year.
EDIT: Wow what a comeback, and right after my post too!

The hell? I flip the channel for two seconds to watch Kentucky finish off Miss. State and Duke's got a lead when I switch back. Oh well, NCSU gave 'em a game.

the fucking goddamn asshole refs GAVE IT TO DUKE! They won't let the red-headed stepchild have anything. You know, Duke is going to have a hard time without the refs in their pockets in the Tourney.

I knew this is what kelly would say so I prepared a response:
I'm sorry, for everything. Even though it isn't my fault. At least NcSt made the tourney right?
Now lets all get out our ink pens and fill out our brackets.....
ready?
GO!

Guess I'll just make my predictions here
Final Four
Kentucky V. Kansas
Florida V. Syracuse
Championship
Kentucky (71) V. Syracuse (77)
I can see Weber St pulling off an upset
A Xavier v Maryland matchup would be a great game
What's up with BYU? they switch regions if they make the Sweet 16? I wasnt really paying attention
How did they wind up in a Friday, Sunday bracket anyway?
Didnt the NCAA notice?
