I have been reactivated

The Air Force has reactivated me. I could be shipping out in 2 days, depending on a variety of factors. I just got a phone call from the local office, relaying the orginal message. So far I have not been assigned to any particular squadron, although it is likely I will be assigned to my orginal command.

Let us know where you're assigned.

Thanks guys. Hopefully the war will be half over when I move over there.
But, I am looking forward to bombing runs... :)
Plus seeing some of my old buddies will be nice.

What aircaft do you fly? I can only envy the fact that you are doing what I always dreamed of doing since I was 4 or something.

Ok guys, it's been confirmed I'm leaving day after tommorow.
I will board a plane in Toledo, join the 156th Signal squad, (since they're going to the same place I am), then fly to North Carolina. Once in Carolina, I'll board a ship and sail to the Gulf. I might not see any fightning, as the war might be over before I'm even there, and I could possibly just be held in reserve. Of course, then again I could be ordered to the frontlines once I get there, if things change.

PS: Just informed my family about it. They are of course worried, but wished me luck. I'm kinda tying up things at work right now (which really isn't online after the fire yet).
So, now I'm off to the local office to pick up some gear and inform my commanding officer that I am indeed coming. I wonder who my direct superior is though..
Wish me luck. :D

Strange that your going by ship. Military Sealift Command has little in the way of passenger capacity.

Give em hell, Tycho! If you go, see if you can get a SD.net message on a JDAM for us to Saddam. :D

Rodger, Good Luck

May you come back and kick the asses of some Viet/Korean/WWII flyers in an Airshow in better times. 8)

I know a few, Chris Wiler's dad flew chopper missions in Vietnam, and now flys "Hinds" for action adventure movies.

Ditto from me, Captain, but, all the same, I would advise you to leave the targeting computer on.

Seriously, thanks for putting your ass on the line for us, and do come back with some stories.
