Well Buffy's on, and I'm watching it, even though it's a repeat (hurry up with the new eps, Joss!). I also ran across the President thread in the Star Wars vs. Star Trek forum. One of the choices was Cthulu, and that got me thinking ...

Why hasn't Cthulu ever been on Buffy? I think he'd make a wonderful addition to the show, especially the Kentucky Fried variation of him.

Actually two reasons - copyright and fan revolt.

Had they messed it up the HPL fans would have been up in arms, and we are a more dangerous minority than Dr Who fans ever could be.

All right, I've seen several million references to Cthulu over the years, but I only have a faint grasp on what it is and what the story is behind it. Can anyone enlighten me?
