Looking for a Total Annihilation map

This is one I saw a few months ago and have been unable to find since. It's a huge air-only map, with large ground areas on opposite sides, so far from each other your nukes cannot reach the enemy base. Any help finding this would be appreciated.

Probably better to ask on a TA forum. I've never encountered such a map though I constantly am adding units and maps. Course I didn't know nukes had limited range in the first place.

Everything in TA has a range, really. The game in many ways is still ahead of the pack.

What's that? You can guard individual units with other units?

*grumbles about Generals and not being able to guard a specific unit*

For TA maps, you might try TAMEC.org. It's unfortunately fallen under the Gameshit/Fileplanet banner, but then again it's hard to reliably host the several GB of maps they have.

Dang...nukes have a range. Hmm.

Does that site also have that "Earth" map? The one that was supposedly insanely huge.

Woa! I didn't know nukes had limited ranges. Probably should have guessed though, T.A. is the most thought out, realistic game of its type I have ever seen. Does anyone know if Cavedog will ever upgrade it again (or have they--I know about nothing beyond the core contingency)? Some new units with radically differing design philosophies would be nice.

Cavedog no longer exists. There will no longer be any offical patches. All you can do is download 3rd party patches.

Plenty of rumour about MS or another game company putting out a TA2.

I have to admit, I do like my Kargenth's.. but I prefer to attack when I have about 20 of the buggers though..

Phantagram is currently developing TA2 with a slated release of (IIRC) Q4 2004. However, they have none of the original development team working with them, so it's a toss-up as to how good it will actually be.

Chris Taylor is IIRC currently looking at building a new wargame right now, although it will not be another Total Annihilation game.
