This just in: WINGS OWN NASHVILLE! Curtis Joseph stopped 27 shots and Sergei Fedorov had a goal and an assist in the Detroit Red Wings 3-0 victory over the Nashville Predators.
The win clinched the Red Wings third straight Central Division title and guaranteed them a spot no lower than third in the Western Conference. Steve Yzerman and Henrik Zetterberg also scored for the Red Wings. For Joseph, it was the 41st shutout of his career.
The game ended a while ago, but the news of the Playoffs has been announed recently.
So to all you hockey fans of teams that
dareoppose the mighty Wings, and just think they can waltz inot the Playoffs:
WE'RE COMIN' FOR YA!

Silence! He whos team is a mere 5th in the NHL may not adress a team who is 2nd in the NHL (CURSE THEE OTTAWA!) with such disrespect!
Bow down before the Kings of Hockey, they who rain over Hockey, from their mighty fortress in Hockey Town, the Joe!
FEAR THE WINGS!

Never! Instead, I choose to repeat my annual ritual of blind loyalty to my Maple Leafs, followed by the tinglings of false hope when they do well in the first round of the playoffs, followed by the inevitable emotional crash when they fail in the second or third round. I HAVE A PLAN, DAMMIT!!!!!

At first glance, one might think these 3rd leaugers as formidable. But upon closer inspection, it is revealed that they hav eplayed a mere 35 games, to the Wings 46. They have no endurance! I can imagine them being wiped out in the exhausting fury of the playoffs as we speak.

Ahhh, the futility. Unlike you however, I have no doubts in my team. When you've claimed the Stanley Cup as many times as the Wings have recently, you can assure yourself of their victory.
But behold, it doesn't have to be that way. Join the Wings! You know you want to. It'll feel good to know the team you're rooting for is winning. Join the Wings Mike, it is your.....
Destiny....

Red Wings
SUCK
LEAFS Rule!
Tell me, how many more times have the Maple Leafs won Lord Stanley's Cup than Detroit?
Leafs have won the cup 14 times, Detroit, what, 10, at most?
And you are a Dallas fan? They after all ARE 2nd in the league, with 1 point more than Detroit.

The Leafs won all there cups back when the NHL only had eight teams (I can't back that up, just saying)! The Wings have won four Cups in the last six years!
Anyways, who is second in the league? The Wings you say? And whos a measly, pathetic, annoying,5thin the league? The Leafs you say? Well well well, for all your big words Ted, the Leafs don't have the credentials to back 'em up!

There are some things money can't buy, the Stanley Cup isn't one of them.
To those who say Dallas is #2, game in hand suckers.
On a very nice note I'm dating a girl with season tickets in the lower bowl. All I have to say is its going to be a GREAT series should we meet the Blues. Any game then ends with only 19 players still eligable to finish the game is a prelude of a true hockey match.

As of this morning, Dallas has one more point than Detroit.
And a game inwhich a team only has 19 players left at the end is NOT a good hockey game.
Hockey is NOT about trying to kill others.

Oh please Ted its a grudge match plain and simple. I get sick and tired of games with no emotion, and after watching a small brawl I can rest assured that a Wings/Blues series would be filled with emotion and have a good fight or two.
Or do you think boxers try to kill each other too

I'm not going to bother looking up any stats, so I'll let my bias set in:
WINGS OWN DALLAS
After all, we took the Blues 6-2. No sweat. Anyways, Teds right, if you've only got 19 guys left standing after a single game, your going to need alot more players when you've got to play seven games. But the Wings have three line-ups, which is more than the standard two. I'm confident we'll hold through.

All I want is the Devils and the Rangers to face each other in the playoffs.
Damm I miss the Patrick Division!

DDG: Umm that 19 players was in reference to the number thrown out on penalities. Last game against the blues ended with 8 on the Blues bench and nine on the wings bench. Just a large number of penalties at the end of a game because the two sides have a bit of a grudge going.

Ahhh, the glories of the NHL playoffs. Seriously, can you find better television on at this time of year?
GO RED WINGS!
By the way, for all you red wings haters, you can take comfort in the fact that once Hockey season gets done all detroit fans have to root for is the Tigers and the Lions. That's pretty grim business, either way you cut it.

So, will the Flyers fold up like a cheap card table in the first round, or will they make it all the way to the second round before they collapse this year?

I'm aware. I was just gloating that the Wings are better than Dallas in the first bit.
And taking that many penalties is bad, bad, bad. It was a fun game, especially considering the Wings' bad blood with the Blues. But I hope it doesn't happen too often. It'll be bound to happen if the Blues
orthe Avs are in the playoffs (Game 7, Avs at the Joe. The final score, 7-0. Victor: Wings).
