Created a little forum of my own.

Post by lordroel »

What do you do if you think, if a big alternate history forum can exist then it will not be a problem to have one more, so in March 2015 i took the big step and created my own little alternate history forum, now you might think, another one, there are already so many out there, my question to everybody is, it is a hobby big or small, busy or as quit as a mouse sleeping, my forum is something i care about, while i do not know if this thread is allowed and most likely i will have my head cut of of posting this, i could not keep silent and therefore i post this, not to get new members, lucky if a google bot shows up, but just to say, hi here is another of those AH forums who can think they can dethrone AH.com and it called Alternate Timelines Forum

I think if your whole point is to compete with another forum you're setting yourself up for failure.

So...you got a total of 10 posts and want to advertise your own forum?

Then, it seems that the only way to survive is to use the means of the enemy, to rest survival upon what is expedient, to look the other way. Well, the answer to that is 'survival as what'? Basically things are simple. By joining here and advertising your forum so early in your life you are essentially letting it be known that you only joined for the sake of advertizing it. Like an addbot but with a human behind the wheel.
It has become clear to me in the previous days that any attempts at reconciliation and explanation with the community here has failed. I have tried my best. I really have. I pored my heart out trying. But it was all for nothing.

You win. There, I have said it.

Now there is only one thing left to do. Let us see if I can sum up the strength needed to end things once and for all.

To be fair, he's been here for over four years, and you have to be a member to read some threads.

That said, I think it's a little tacky to create a thread to advertise another forum, though I don't have a problem with a link in his sig (which would be much more visible if he posted more, unlike this thread which will probably be flushed to Testing or sink off the front page soon).

Question for lordroel: What does your forum bring to the table that the ones with existing communities don't? Are you doing something new and different that you've encountered demand for? Unless, of course, you're already some kind of rock star in the community and refuse to post your content anywhere else going forward, I agree with Zod that you're probably spinning your wheels here.

If it sinks to the second pages or goes to testing i will have no problem, made my case and now i can go on posting on this forum with out having the urge to post a link to my forum.

I wish i was a AH rockstar, so far i think myself more as a groupie who wants to be a rockstar and your other question, no my forum as yet does not bring anything new to the AH community, maybe in the future one day but as yet i am one of those many other AH forums who thinks and tries to take a piece away from AH.com, i think that will never happen but if you do not try then you never now if you succeed.
