Vympel asked:

One Doomstar? You managed this ... how?
Doomstar utilizing Hyper-advanced VII physics, packing, among other things:
7 stellar converters
Phase cloak (so the Antarans can't shoot first
)
Time Warp facilitator (therefore =14 stellar converters
)
Achilles targeting unit
Structural analyzer
Throw in a good captain...

Go look up "Orion Globe"
It's a single Doomstar that can take out the biggest computer fleet singlehandedly.

...
Well, I thought I was approaching cheating and losing the fun of the game with my 2-column thick fleet of 6 Doom Stars and X titans, all phase cloaked, that can take on a 4-column thick enemy fleet with stellar converters etc. with no losses...
This is insane
Well, just more reason why the Antarans can't possibly be ruling again in MOO3... another reason to boycott this game

I would like to counter by saying first: Antares in moo2 was actually ConJenn, a different world. The real Antares is elsewhere.
Second: moo3 is actually pretty good, if you learn to stop being a control freak and switch gears to macromanagement.

Moo2 was fun that way. I'd control maybe 5 world, build uber 5 Titans per each world, then sit there and and wait for the Psilons to send their 300 strong doomstar fleets.... at which point my 5 Titans would whipe them out in two rounds. To make it "fair" I'd limit my attack fleets to uber destroyers and frigates... fun stuff.
Then there's the impossible to kill timewarp/cloaked ship. With the second attack being used to recloak the ship.

Well, go figure...
All I would have wanted for MOO3 would be for me to load my empire from MOO2 and start taking on the whole Antaran empire...
And from what I've heard, in the actual MOO3 here, there's nothing fun out there, in or out of macromanagement, so don't see where you could be having fun

Probably cause those people are having a hard time working through the macromanagement aspect, or simply not seeing the point of it, though it'll depend from person to person.
The game's a lot more slower and planned out than moo2, and the scale is far, far bigger. Moo3 makes controlling 300+ planets possible while directing multiple war efforts simultaneously.
Anyway, it's all up to everyone's own tastes.

Phase cloak, time warp facilitator and hyper x capacitors. A large enough ship equiped with these items will take out a whole pile of stuff. This is thebasis for the Orion Globe.

MOO2 ship design known as the Orion Globe. One of these ships is able to take out an entire computer fleet.
