Go team. Beat other team. Rar.

Russia vs England on right now. Looks like England has gotten plenty of speed.

Wales did well earlier that's all I know. The shouting from downstairs leads to believe it's not going well for England though.

In other news. Our fans are dicks, who knew? :|

Sounds like the locals have been playing a part in the arseholery as well. Not that it excuses 'em of course.

I really want to watch the games (read: Germany), but since cutting cable I have to scramble to find online streaming sources, which is hard in Canada. Anyone able to help identify a source who's broadcasting online somewhere accessible to the rest of the world?

Oh England. 0-1 to wales at half time. England have more possession but Wales seem to be doing a lot more with it when they have it

Goal from a free kick Rooney gave them.

They took the win at 2-1 on the second half, though.

Yep. Hodgeson did what the pundits though he should do and put people who actually score on up front. Wales defenses held amazingly well though.

I'm torn; I would love it if Hodgson failed to get out of the group stages again because I hate that owl faced chancer, but, well no there is not but. I wanted England to lose!

As the England manager said, had they been playing any other team he would have been sorry for them

The only issue I have with the play order is that because of tournament rules, both their final matches will be simultaneous. As long as neither team loses their final match they'll escape the group stage. Fingers crossed!

It is pretty clear that every team playing Germany right now thinks it can prevail if they build a wall of bodies at their last quarter of the field.

Two minutes to quittin' time, then home at an irresponsible commuter speed to try to catch the last fifteen minutes of the game..........!!!!!!!............

I hate when teams are playing not to lose instead of playing for the win. Ugly game.

Me 2. The only thing worse is when you see a team you know can play better not putting in an effort so that they don't tire them self out or what ever other crap.

Germany is experiencing what is it like to be Spain at their height of dominance. No team believes they stand a chance against them, hence no one will ever bother to attack. Probably the only chance for an entertaining German match would be playing against Spain.

I still have vivid memories of Germany curb-stomping Brazil in the world cup semi-final!

That's probably quite a bit of it. The whole "well they're a REALLY HARD team, so all we can do is just try to keep them from scoring and hope we get lucky" sentiment.

The Brazil game... man that was redonkulous.

In other news, has anybody been keeping up with the Copa Americana? Which is apparently a thing. The only squeak I'm hearing about it is my little brother's occasional posts about it on Facebook...

The Czech Republic vs Croatia game was pretty crazy, 2-2 as the Czechs came back from 2-0 down to draw level, thanks in part to Croatian fans throwing fucking flares onto the pitch, costing them the win :banghead:

Right now, Russia is well in its way to being eliminated, being down 2 goals against Wales after the first half of the final game of the preliminary round. Excellent! :D
