This is by no means new, but I'm more concerned about the inept way the airports are going about this in Canada if what I have heard is true.

Still, I hear a quick and effective test will be released within the week to detect SARS so that's a bonus.

Well after it was mentioned yesterday on the news, about the French Canadian who came back from China, and has gone through Vancouver,Ottawa and Montreal airports, the government woke up and realised there was something wrong.

Bloody hell, it's like the film Outbreak and even that had OTT infection rates. Just as well this bug isn't more lethal, I'd hate to see something with a 90%+ mortality rate and 2 week incubation period get loose.

hmmmm i think it's time to blow the dust off of those old Nike-Ajax batteries and set them up along the Canadian border...we can't be having your disease laden planes landing here. But seriously though, the Chinese government really fucked up by trying to hide ths thing, and it's going to cost them dearly.

hmmm...i suppose that's all we can expect from a communist country not that a democratic country don't hide information just that people point harder and longer when a communist country is caught in a conspiracy.

Too bad no Nike Ajax batteries exist anymore, and the only Nike Hercules (and descendants) ones are in the hands of other countries. ARADCOM is long-gone (there was a plan to replace all the Nike Hercules SAMs with Patriot, but that was canned)

wasn't it the ABM (1972??) treaty that banned those?
