Bad news for me.

I've just recieved a call from the hospital. My father collapsed at work today, and is currently in the emergency room in critical condition.
I would go to the hospital, but I a) have no clue as to where it is located b) it is 11 pm in NYC, and there is no way I'm rushing across town now, and c) they're not letting anyone in anyway.
I'll go there first thing in the morning, though.

My father has a bad back. One time, he threw it out worse than he ever had before or since. Around 11 at night, it started spasming horribly--the doctors later said it was just as bad as what a woman giving birth goes through. Hearing your father scream and then spending hours in the hospital waiting room for the doctors to make it stop it just about as bad as anything I've ever been through. I hope your father is alright, man.

Here's an update. The doctor said that they've stabilized his condition. However, some asshole at the hospital called my grandma (despite my father's and his coworkers' specific requests NOT TO) and told her. She doesn't speak English, so she doesn't know what happened, only that he is in the hospital. But that is enough for her. She had two heart attacks and several heart surgeries. She also has some kind of disorder that she is worried all the time.
Now she is feeling really sick, and is considering calling the ambulance for herself. And, once again, I can't do anything, since she lives in Brooklyn (damn this New Jersey apartment).
This keeps getting better and better....
I'll keep posting any updtes, since it still beats sitting by myself in an empty apartment.

Still no updates. My grandma has taken some medicine. She hopes that she won't have to call the ambulance, but if she doesn't feel better, she will have to.
On a side note, I'm living near a hospital, so I keep hearing those ambulance sirens. Ugh. That's probably the last thing I need right now.

Hey there,
my father has had bypass surgery before, and it was tense..
But we got through it okay. I pray to whatever gods or fates exist that your family will be as lucky as mine.
But, chin up... It's the best thing you can do, friend.
