what spam do you get in your inbox? dont just delete it - put it in sdnets first spam museum! -music intro-

I get plenty in my hotmail account...but fortunately none in my main one. The spam I get for my free e-mail is mainly along the lines of 'do you want to {insert offer here}..'

Here's a fairly innocuous piece of spam...

i remember in one of my old hotmail accounts, id get at least 30+ spam emails a day, simply crazy

I usually get 50-some-odd spams in my junk mail folder on my old yahoo account, pluys two or three in my inbox, PER DAY.

You know what I really hate? I hate how they've figured out how to get past spam software by using hotmail and yahoo accounts with the subject line being RE: What you asked for or something like that. something a NORMAL person would send. I HATE IT!

Apparently, the overall Internet marketing community seems to think that I need breast enlargements, penis enlargements, viagra, human growth hormone, insurance, mortgages, and viagra. LOTS of viagra.

While it's nice to be noticed, it's also nice to block all emails that come to me with those topics or words anywhere in them. That gets most of the spam for me. The ones that slip through get blocked. The really persistant ones get forwarded all the spam before it gets deleted.

Stuff at times I just don't get.

Porn: yes

Mortage loans and college have always made me go...okay.

Though I use spare accounts to stuff a multitude of the stuff.

I have pretty much taken care of spam by using a throwaway email that I just empty every now and then, and, using identifiers to send messages to the trashcan in my main mail.

I just can't resist these things!

The email spam I get is fairly normal, but I did once get some unusual AIM spam. It seems to have been a bot which at first acts like an actual human. I saved that one:

For some reason, I get Portugese spam in my Villanova account. That or Romanian (I know it's a Romance language, and it's not Spanish, French, or Italian, so I figure it's Portugese because it looks like Spanish. It could be Catalan on Dalmation for all I know)

There's a spammer out there with my screen-name, except he's @yahhoo and I'm @aol.com. I've gotten some angry mails asking me to cease and desist to which I reply, "It's not me!". People are generally pretty apologetic about it.
I had one asshole nuke me in IM once, he finally caught on and apologised as well.
I get on average 5-10 junkmails a day, though. And that's ALL the mail I ever get.
