1st experience with death.

Post by haas mark »

Okay, so I am kind of depressive as of late. I am going to soon experience the first death of a friend of mine.. and it's already getting to me. [sighs] She's dying of an infection, and she has a few days to a week before her roomie is given the option of taking her off of life support. We weren't particularly close, but she has said that if nothing else, she wants to bake cookies for me and my roommate before she dies. [sigh] God, this is getting to me again, and I'm about to crash again.. I'll stop before I totally go down in flames again..

The best, if not easiest, advice that I can give you is that it's better to have known that the person leaving was happy with the way you were a part of their lives, and imporantly, remind them of that so that they feel fulfilled with the life they had and the friends they knew. It's their moment to reminisce.

Afterwards, that's when your friends here and without will be ready to help you grieve, and eventually heal.
Note: I'm semi-retired from the board, so if you need something, please be patient.

I'm getting pretty fucking sick and tired of people around here going through hell. Seems like every week somebody's grieving, when the fuck do we get some happy news?

verilon, I am so very sorry.

I'm starting to develop an attitude towards bad news, seems like it's the only kind there is these days. Bear with me please.

Last year the reaper just seemed to camp out around my friends and me.

My health went to shit, and I got sent to ICU, my Step-Granny died.
My roomies fiance went into emergency surgery and was given very low chance of survival, and they are still paying her hospital bills.
My Roomie's Grandfather died (Dad's side)
My Roomie's Other Grand father died (Mom's side)
Half of the employee's working under me had to take funeral leave.

and my diabetes got so bad through stress that I couldn't see for a whole week.

Sorry to hear that, ver. Hold together, man.

And for some reason, everyone talking about dying has gotten me to listen to "Everyone I love is Dead" by Type O Negative. Random.
"And as I promised, I said I would read from the bible..." "...And if we could turn our bible to Pslams..."Happy shall he be that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones." Because they adopted a kid together, from what I understand, or maybe that he's just always been there for them. (She adopted the kid, I know that much)

'Tis completely understandable.

It was cervical cancer that had spread to a malignant tumor in her brain, and she got an infection from an IV tube.. She had a blood transfusion which helped her. And now sh'e sjust got a 60/40 chance of living.
