The Mail Call Thread

Thought this might be a good idea for letting people you've written PMs to know that they have mail waiting. This might be a candidate for a sticky.

Or maybe not. Up to you all.

This is actually a good idea. I had a PM waiting for Darth Yoshi but he never answered it so I unsent it.

Err....isn't that what the PM pop-up window is for? Just turn the option on instead of having to create a mail call thread.

Just a FYI that sometimes people don't answer PMs because they don't want to.

Hah. I always take the time to send a missive. If I didn't feel like responding, I still have the courtesy to send a message reading:

"News flash--FUCK YOU."

Not everyone uses that. And sometimes you read a PM and don't get around to answering it, not because you don't want to (Yes, Spanky, we know that happens, too) but because you're busy, or get distracted by something, or whatever. The human brain is frail, and much like Jell-O, and cannot always be relied upon. Especially when intention gets overtaken by events. A little reminder is sometimes helpful.

I owe Edi an update on my life via PM but haven't had time to write it recently, so.....hang in there, babe, it'll be coming one of these days!! :D

I sent Darth Wong a PM on Feb 3rd about the archives I had on Brian Young's late Debate Slate.

Considering that there doesn't seem to be much reason to keep this private, I'll include the text of my message here, which gives the URL and a brief summary of the contents.
Sorry it took so long to respond. In any case, here's all the archived parts I found on my computer :

http://home.earthlink.net/~cyborgstan/d ... chives.zip

They include Stilgar Take 01 (Monday November 2nd 1998 08:03:12 to Friday November 13th 1998 12:59:24) and Take 02 (Thursday November 25th 1999 01:35:46 - Wednesday December 1st 1999 05:47:59) Both of these are things you probably already have given the Stilgar Pages.

Then there's the last archive, which runs from Monday July 10th 2000 06:35:32 to Tuesday March 20th 2001 09:17:18. After this, I lost the URL the Debate Slate and thus lost contact.

The posts themselves should be unmodified unless if I accidently hit a key when combining all the seperate saved HTMLs into one file. The top and the bottom of the files may or may not reflect what was actually on the Debate Slate, but that's just simply rules, links to the host sites, or links to Dreambook. Finally, probably because I'm lazy, the posts are arranged in the order of most recent being first, just like the original Debate Slate.

When was this?
Couple weeks back when I was bored and made some Legend of Zelda avatars.

Really? I don't remember seeing anything about that. My memory must be slipping.

How extensive are your archives? I was wondering cuz I remember quite a few morons popping up on the debate slate that would be fun to bring ot the light of day.

Uhhhh..... I gave the start and end dates for the three files I had on the zip, which as far as I can determine is all that I had on my computer. The files themselves should have all the posts from the Debate Slate during that time, except for maybe obvious trolling ones that got deleted before I could get to it. It's a little under a half a meg zipped.

EDIT : Just a short comment.

Is there any way to Block a member from sending you messages.

Some asshole here who will remain nameless took it personally that i stood up for Marc Xavier when he tried to start shit on the man and send me a rather annoying PM. I was not appreciated.

PM me... I might be able to work it out, and if I have trouble, I got 4 Supermods on AIM, and they know which end of a Gridfire Impeller to hold!

FYI, Stan: I had the page bookmarked - I even remember its URL. It used to be at http://books.dreambook.com/shotgun/debateslate.html , but it looks like either Brian or Dreambook deleted it.

I must humbly admit that I'm bad at replying to PM's. Some times I'm too busy to reply. The next I notice a week has passed and I don't feel like answering it anymore.

I like PMs. They make me feel special. And loved.
Apparently, Spanky hates me, and wants me to feel ordinary.

Don't you just love that warm fuzzy feeling inside when people respond to your posts or send you PMs? One of the joys of being one of less than 10 female members here is that I can say "hi, I'm snuggles" and have instant warm fuzziness as a wave of hormonal males rushes off to answer my message. :D
