Ha ha ha ha ha!!!!

OK, I'll admit that I doubt the Ducks can actually take this series, but it's always fun to see the underdog land a punch or two.

Yeah. They did good but they got lucky. If we had got that goal then it would have been over.

I am most displeased with this turn of events, but I was aware a while ago (see the "Well Shit" thread...). I seriously doubt their ability to take the series.

After all, we lost the first game of the Stanley Cup series to Carolina, but we came back with a 4 game winning streak.

Still,

Is it true that if you like the Maple Leafs, you don't like the Red Wings, and vice-versa?

It is impossible to be a fan of both the Maple Leafs and the Red Wings. One might as well ask if it's possible to be simultaneously composed of both matter and antimatter.

Stuff Leaf's and Wings fans into the same bar and within 20mins you'll have a riot on your hands that will make LA '92 look like an noisy HS kegger......

heY! WHO FUCKING CALLED IT!

That's right, your truly Darth Fanboy predicted the Ducks! w00t w00t! And they will win, because Paul Kariya is the greatest hockey Player in the league and now he's got Adam Oates as his tag team partner (though I do miss Teemu)

They got damn lucky that they won. Detroit nearly wrapped it up with that one shot that they ruled didn't count.

Heh. Reminds me of the time the Sabers lost the Cup because a dumbass ref ruled that the Stars made a goal while the guy was in the Sabers' crease. *growl*

It never crossed the red line. It was a good call by the upstairs booth.

I do agree that the Ducks got lucky, Giguere was in a shooting gallery almost all of the overtime periods.

BTW, going to the Devils-Bruins game tomorrow :D

I thought the whole thing about Canadians and hockey was just sort of an overblown stereotype, until I was over in a Windsor pub and the US was playing Canada in the Olympics...

I agree, that was the right call. It wasn't in and they called it as such. But it was damned close to being a goal. Had it been in, the Ducks would be singing a different tune.

I doubt the Ducks'll take the series.

We REALLY need to kick this habit of multiple overtimes. The semester is ending and I'm already short on sleep. This made my QM lecture unbearably hard to to follow, now I have to find soembody who took good notes to bum off of. Of course staying means you get to move down a few rows if you are lucky and the traffic leaving the Joe isn't as bad :D.

There is no more sickening sound in hockey than a clank. The number of posts we rang was obscene. When you are outshouting the opponent 3:2 and you have OUR snipers on the ice ... damn those ducks are lucky.
