That lame "stranded on a desert island" question a

You know, you're stuck on a desert island and you can only have three things, this time, I'm being specific.
This island has a several trees, many plants, and you can only use what washes ashore and can be found on the island. Without fresh water, you have only a few days to live. There are a few insects and birds on the island, and among the stuff that washes ashore are some pieces of wood, a gun with one bullet, and the corpse of one of your boatmen, along with his glasses. How will you get off before you die of thirst, or find a way to survive longer?

I just blast my brains out right before I see the rescue boat. Total time on Island, 30 seconds.

What kind of wood, pistol or rifle, is the corpse clothed?

Just boil saltwater. Sounds like there's enough food around.

you can't boil seawater. It's the salt in it that'll kill you and that doesn't boil away.

Boil away the water. The salt stays behind, and collect the steam; condense; enjoy

All I need is a plastic tarp, a bucket/pan, and a Leatherman. I could get shelther, water, and food from those three things.

I wander over to the back-side of the island and butcher the cast and crew of "Survivor: Thailand" brutally. Then I wander over to visit Gilligan and Ginger.

You're priorities are as follows:
1. If you don't have shoes, make something to protect your feet
2. Find water
3. Find/make shelter
4. Find food.
The foot one is obvious, if you're barefoot, you're going to get into trouble very fast. Hopefully you'll wash ashore with shoes on and this won't be a problem.
Water is second. In hot weather, you better find water quick. The only way to get fresh water with the materials you described is to find pools of rainwater. If there are animals on the island, then there is a water source somewhere. If you're luckly, a plastic bag might wash up. You can get water from trees/shrubs by tying a the bag around a branch. The plant will literally sweat. You then drink the water that has collected at the bottom of the bag. If you're really really really lucky, a reverse osmosis divice will wash ashore. The problem with those is that they only produce a small amound of water for a large amount of effort. If you're in hot weather the water you make will be less than the sweat you expended in the process. If that's the case you should only use it at night.
Find a shelter somewhere in the shade, like under a tree. If there are caves, you can use them, but be wary of what else might be inhabiting them. If you are in hot weather, you should spend the better part of your days in your shelter away from the sun, and only go out in the early mornings and late afternoons when it's cooler. If plastic bags wash up, you can use them to keep you're area dry.
As for food, you can build traps for birds, and spearfish for seafood. You can also eat the bugs, especially grasshoppers. They taste salty. If you find a water hole on the island, you can be sure that the animals will come to you. Just make sure you cook your food thoroughly.
There, that is what I remember from when I went through survival a year ago.

What are you going to boil it in? Nothing you've got is going to stand up to the heat needed to boil the water. And what are you going to use for the condensor?

It was indeed a Volleyball, I used to go out with an insane(quirky not raving insane) who got her own vollyball and named it Wilson in honor of the movie, she played local rec-volly-ball so this was all well and good and they always love to play games with Wilson
(*Waits to see who takes that which way)

You could use a piece of cloth as a condensor (maybe your pants?)
And do you have an emergency light? Cause you could transform that into a pot.

No emergency lights or plastic bags, but you do have some pot. You also have a liquor bottle.

Well take the pot, make fire with glasses, fill pot with water, take large leaf from tree or alternatively a piece of cloth, fix it over the pot, wait until the steam has made the piece of cloth wet, then suck the water out.
