Well, Prom is over...

Post by RogueIce »

And it sucked. Just plain sucked. The person who I thought was my date, and the only reason I even went in the first place, I barely even saw. All I had wanted to do was get one, just ONE, dance with her.

But, it never happened.

And so, in a repeat of virtually every other dance I have ever gone to, and a vision of what the rest of my life is most likely going to be like...

...I was alone. Very, very, very alone.

For three-and-a-half hours, I basically sat/stood/wandered about aimlessly, all alone. Barely ever even SEEING the girl who I have fallen hard for, the girl I thought was my date, all evening.

Except at the end. When she left. And, since she left, I left.

Without even so much as a hug...

I'll give you the same advice I gave that other guy: Don't get mad, get pissed! Your new slogan is "Fuck that bitch!"

Hey, STFU guys, it sometimes actually helps! Mad is better than sad!
If Religion and Politics were characters on a soap opera, Religion would be the one that goes insane with jealousy over Politics' intimate relationship with Reality, and secretly murder Politics in the night, skin the corpse, and run around its apartment wearing the skin like a cape shouting "My votes now! I don't get it. Didn't you pick her up at her house? Didn't you guys go together with a group of friends and eat dinner there and stuff? That's what we did at my prom.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention...

I paid for her ticket, too. I paid for her to go (which, according to her, is the only way she could've gone, as her family wasn't going to give her the money), and I barely even saw her...

It's a sad, sad night for me...my Senior Prom...

No, I met her there. And for maybe 30 minutes, before anyone showed up, I sat with her, but she mostly talked to the other people at our table (not wholey her fault, I guess...I'm not the best conversationalist). But after that... *sigh*

Yup, she's a conceited bitch.
It's a sad, sad night for me...my Senior Prom...
Just wait for university, my friend. Once you're there, none of this high school bullshit even registers. I've long since forgotten about my senior prom. The experience was kind of fun, but I could have thought of at least 5 other things I'd rather have been doing at that time. About the only things I got from it were a lot of drama (Christ was it drama) and some nice pictures for my parents to display around the house.

As Jon Stewart would say ... Waaaah?

That doesn't sound like a senior prom. That sounds like a half-assed school dance with expensive clothes. You're supposed to escort your date in. Isn't there a post-prom activity you should be at? Something involving binge drinking?

Gotta agree with Prawn on this one, fuck that bitch! Dirty fuckin' whore.
Wait, wait, wait, YOU paid for her fucking ticket, and the bitch left you BY YOURSELF!?! Oh man, she's a piece of shit.
BTW, my date and I got ditched on our prom night. We were a couple of convenience, but we were pretty pissed off.

Prom already?

Shit, we didn't have ours until at least about half-way through May, and that was two years ago.

Perhaps you could explain what happened with your alleged date in greater detail, to help us understand what happened. I'm terribly sorry that your prom experience was not as wonderful as it could have been. I remember that my Senior Prom was not particularly memorable, either, so don't feel as though you are alone.

I was probably more a "date of convienience" too. Basically, she spent the whole night with her friends, dancing and doing whatever. About midway through, she moved her purse to another table (or, actually, had someone else do it). I don't know what table it eneded up at; never saw it again.

I did see her a few times, but before I could get a word in, something happened. One time, I was just about to open my mouth to ask her to dance, when some other guy got to her first and asked. The second, I was right there, about to tap her shoulder, when another guy I knew stepped up, had to do the hand shake and all that social business, and by the time I turned around, she was gone again. A third time, I managed to talk to her a little bit, even get a picture with her with my camera, but she got pulled away by one of her friends practically in mid-sentence.

The next time I saw her, she said it was time for her to go. So I walked her down to my car, got her stuff out so she could take it with her (she put it in there because her friend had not shown up who she was going to spend the night with; first words I heard from her was "Can I put my stuff in your car?" No hello, not even a wave), said goodbye, and went home.

If there were parties afterward (I know there were), I wasn't in any mood to go to them.

EDIT: I also wanted to get her a corsage, one of those "dately" things to do. She said she wasn't big on the tradition and stuff, but I wanted to get her one anyway, as sort of a surprise. That didn't work out either.

Basically, NOTHING worked out for me at Prom. Not a single thing.

Prom is a big deal for two groups of people:
1. The popular kids who cry their eyes out on graduation day.
2. The kids whose parents pressure them into going so they can get photo ops (like me).

For everyone else, it's kind of "eh, yeah I'll go."

I know you won't believe this right now, but in time, wounds like this will heal. You will learn to assert yourself around women, and how to distinguish the good ones from the bad ones (important hint: the hottest looking ones are not necessarily the good ones).

I'll tell you the truth: I honestly don't even recall any of the names of the students or teachers from my high school graduating class. I probably wouldn't even recognize them walking down the street. And I don't care.

There are people out there for whom high school is the pinnacle of their lives. We call them losers.

The rational part of my mind, the part of my mind that has helped me to deal with all the various problems I have had in my life, will no doubt tell me this soon.

Sadly, it hasn't kicked in just yet. Probably because of the higher potential gravity of this situation, as I described in my last post in this thread. She, by the way, if it had worked out, would've been my first ever girlfriend, possibly the infamous First Kiss as well. The fact that I did not even get the CHANCE to see her reaction to what I told her is probably what weighs the most heavily upon me.

Don't take this lying down. If I were you, I'd confront her and fucking demand my money back. One fucking picture isn't worth the $100 or so you spent on that ticket for her sorry ass. She's obviously a bitch, and the corsage deal just makes her an ungrateful cunt, to boot. If she doesn't even have the decency to dance with the guy that paid her way, then she's a whore, as well.

In short, I can see nothing positive or attractive in this girl.

Yellowtext: Whoops, sorry, I was a bit unclear as to "how" it didn't work out. I was unable to buy one for her ahead of time, so I didn't even have one to present to her. She had no way of knowing about it.

Jesus, did she have wax on her vaginal walls or something?! Has no guy ever given this girl a first-class orgasm?

Well, you're about to run off to university. Why would you want a girlfriend (I'm just assuming that she's going to a different school from yours)? You'll meet plenty of classy girls in the future. You're young, in your sexual prime. Play the field. It's the only way you'll really find out what you like and don't like in a girl.
