Actually I joined with the espress intereest of Challenging some folks their to an online duel because of how they had slandered Mr. Wong over there. Funny how things work out eh?

Oh, just having the guts to call out the resident religious fundamentalist moderator for going on a censoring spree over the last couple of weeks, which to me seemed to be heavily influenced by things offensive to him personally because of his religion.

As far as I'm concerned the message from SB is now quite clear:

Criticise the administration? Get banned!

So there is my experience of SB. Let it stand as an example to others - watch out for that place. It's dangerous.

What, AD? I haven't seen him censoring much over on SB at all.

I was going to make a screen capture for mine, I got bored of waiting in the first land for ANYONE to show up in the ASVS_VS_SB Diablo 2 PVP game that I actually killed all of my Necromancer's minion's around me in the campsite. My computer crashed before I had a chance to complete the Caption: "Even the Undead have limit's to their Patiance"

Here's what happened.

AWACS posted a drawing of a small woman with VERY large, bare breasts.
ArthurDent removed the image.
Gunner gets angry and accuses Dent of forcing his ideas of morality on the rest of the board, deleting things because they offend him personally.
Tron bans Gunner for flaming Dent for doing his job.
Gunner comes here.

Nudity is against the rules at SB. Dent was perfectly justified in removing the image. The thread can be found here.

Gunner, when AWACS registered, he agreed to the following:

By the agreement that AWACS made when he registered, ArthurDent was perfectly justified in removing said image from the board. Furthermore, it is board policy that one does not flame a moderator in public, which you broke. At that point, Tron banned you.

As a board operator myself, I would point out that it goes beyond those standard "boilerplate" agreements. Even though I don't personally find pornographic images offensive, the sexually repressive laws instituted by the United Christian Theocratic Fascists of North America (ie- our respective governments) place me in a position of legal risk if I allow any explicit pornography on the board. Therefore, despite my personal disagreement with the law, I would have no choice but to delete a sexually explicit picture if it was posted to my board as well.

(Edit: I didn't initially realize that the picture was actually not sexually explicit; apparently, it only showed bare female breasts. That is not explicit pornography, and it would not place me in a position of legal risk. Given that fact, I would be inclined to leave the image alone. In Ontario where I live, it is actually legal for women to walk around bare-chested in public).

This board is a lot less restrictive about flaming moderators. I've allowed people to swear at me without repercussions, and I prefer handing out titles like "Village Idiot" or "Fundamentalist Moron" rather than banning people. Every board has its own standards.

I am suprised I got away with flaming a mod in Space Battles for flaming you last year....

Morality about sexuality isn't limited to Christianity. If someone is offended by it(By being brought up in the aforementioned oppressive religion where the naked body is considered sinful, or at least secret), you shouldn't post such on those grounds.

Then again, I'm generally a nice guy, outside of Vs. debates.

We can't avoid posting things because they might offend people. There are people out there who would be deeply offended by the fact that I married a white woman, or the fact that I think the Biblical God is an asshole.

We're all probably nicer in real life than we are on the Internet.

Well, after having seen the picture of Dr. Laura, I can only say that while it is not pornographic and should not be censored, I will certainly not say that it is "OK". The only picture of Dr. Laura that I would find "OK" would be her plunging over a cliff in a flaming Pinto

See now while thats all fine and dandy not much KE will be imparted into the good Docotor which I find an un-acceptable out-come, there for I purpose a slight alter-ration whereby we shove Doctor Laura off BUT covered in petrolium and then push a flaming Pinto after her thus she gets a double Dose of the KE not ony from the impact but also the follow-up KE Transfer from the Pinto, Not to mention the thermal damage she will be taking from the combusition reaction we hope to start after the Pinto hits

Eh. I think the OP is making much ado about nothing. Frankly, if you don't like how a message board is run, start your own.

With that said... if it were up to me, I'd allow just about anything (with the exception of, say, Goatse and the like).
