I am proud to announce that in a few short hours I will be leaving the boring cultural wasteland known as upstate New York for the single most beautiful state in the Union. That's right, I'll be in Hawaii for the next ten days, while you lot will probably be spending spring break in some overpriced, tourist-trap hellhole, like Disneyworld, Myrtle Beach, or Atlantic City. I'd feel pity for you, but I don't have a soul. Anyway, this means I'll be gone until next Saturday, the 26th of April (DON'T CHEER, DAMMIT!). Barring a convenient Internet-cafe this'll be my last post for a while, thus sending my post-per-day average straight to hell. *sighs* Ah, well, sacrifices must be made. See ya!

I just left disneyland. I get to spend my vacation in historic, beautiful, lexington mass. yes!

i spent my Vacation at several So Cal beaches, and it didn't cost me a fuckin dime....sucker

Of course I'm right. Downtown Buffalo is slowly transforming itself into one massive run-down ghost town. Drive around for a bit and you'll see abandoned factories, burned-out homes, boarded-up apartment buildings, and big piles of rubble where bulldozers did their thing.

The waterfront is no better. Buffalo has miles upon miles of land on Lake Erie, enough room for huge marinas, restaurants, beaches, malls, hotels, etc. What do we have? Two small harbors and a tiny beach. In between is acres of undeveloped land, abandoned buildings, and the crumbling Bethlehem Steel plant. The only restaurant that had the courage to build on the waterfront was closed down because the highway bridge along the waterfront (called the Skyway) made it near-inaccessable.

The City of Buffalo is crap, and people know it. That's why our city's population has been cut in half over the past five years.

And what does our City Council do to make up for the loss of so many people? Raise taxes.

But have you been to Buffalo, or have you been to DOWNTOWN Buffalo? There's a huge difference. The suberbs and areas surrounding Buffalo are fairly nice. Downtown is becoming a festering, sucking chest wound.

i was in amsterdam for a week. then i went to sofia for 2 weeks. now i´m trying to figure out where my third vacation during this spring break will take me.

maybe, barthelona or lissabon, something in the south.
