Well that really fucking sucked

As some of you know I was on a trip to Huston, leaving last Thursday and coming back late Monday, or so the plan went. However come Saturday a very moronic member of our group shoved me, I tripped over a box and landed on a railing. Totally fall of about three feet, I got up and walked away. Well, that didn't last......

About two hours later I've fainted from shock and extreme pain in my abdomen with every movement and breath. After a nice ambulance ride, a long view of the trauma center ceiling, and a couple Cat scans and chest X-rays It was determined that I landed just right to cut open my spleen, filling my abdominal cavity with blood and fluid. Much fun, made even better by the fact that I could only be given light painkillers because the severity of my pain was a major indicator for it surgery to remove the organ would be required.

However it was eventually decided that it wasn't immediately necessary and I could simply be observed. However the blood loss made me anemic and that steadily worsened. Add in the fact that I'm in Houston Texas and live near Philadelphia Pennsylvanian and I was stuck in the Hospital till this morning when I was released. Course my trip had to leave as planned so my mother had to fly down to be with me and bring me home, even with emergency rates hotel and plane fairs add up to something like 2000$

So now I'm home, and may have to be home schooled for six weeks with avoiding even climbing single flights of stairs as I recover. What a fun week I've had.......

Sea Skimmer, when you get better, either A. physically attack the bastard who assaulted you mercilessly, or B. File Criminal Assault charges on him. What he did to you is Wrong, and he must be punished for it.

I hope you get better soon. :)

The problem with B is that charges would have to be filed in Houston, where neither of us lives, and my parents are very much against any form of lawsuit unless the damage was done intentionally.

A was alreadly taken care of in part by a few friends. We all already hated the fucker.

I knew something was wrong, you said you were going to be back Tuesday.
That sucks so many, watch yerself there bub, spleen injuries are nothing to fuck around with. Have seen your own doctor since you've back? A second opinion could be important in this!

Hopefully the fucker was beaten to the point where he required a hospital stay himself.

Anyways, get well soon so you can kick the guy's ass again for good measure or "accidentally" knock him down a long flight of concrete stairs.

I got back a few hours ago... A couple different doctors looked at me and my three CAT scans and X-ray's at what's one of the best trauma centers in the US

I'm seeing a surgeon Tuesday and I've got more blood work Monday however, and I'll likely need to go back a couple more times after that for additional follow ups.

Damn, Sea Skimmer, that's horrid. Are you still in massive amounts of pain, or are you better? *blows kiss* (Blowing kisses is better than giving you a hug that will further break you) :(

Standard hospital policy wouldn't have let you visit SS unless you're accompanied by a member of SS's family.

I'm extremely sore when I move, basically I can't bend. But the outright constant pain pretty much subsided after the first couple days. What sucks just about as much as the no physical activity for six weeks requirement is I can't drink soda in any quantity for a while because my stomach is sitting in a pool of blood and the bubbles could cause renewed pain and vomiting.

No, that really fucking sucks. I feel for ya, I never went anywhere for spring break. Getting hurt on vacation just adds insult to injury.

As for minimal impact, I met your future life when you are and old man like me.

Again, best wishes.

Well that was the thing, I was getting to miss two days of school, Thursday-Friday for the trip, and should have been back having only missed one of spring break, Monday. And that day would have been spent visting NASA with friends.

Hell we where even getting two nights at Six Flags as part of this trip, course I missed one with the whole "bed in the trama center" aspect of the trip and I cut the first one short so I could go out to eat.

I never liked traveling before and this whole thing is going to keep me a half hour from home for the next decade or so.
