I have no problem with the cop, but I hope that they find the guy who hit the dog and subject him to multiple ass-rapings. They probably won't though.

While I agree people who run down dogs or cats on purpose should be gang raped, if you hit a dog or cat on accident it is not always wise to stop. You might cause another accident, or worse get run over by some other driver when you stop to look. It has been raining in this region off and on for the last week or so. Low visibility could have been an issue too.

The police guy only did that because he thought he would save the dog more pain... I don't blame him.

The cop was quite stupid although...

His intention was nice but the dog could be in better shape now if he just put the dog in the boot and head for the vet immidiately.

He wanted to spare the dog's pain and without checking it's state carefully he shot the dog's head.

Beside the fact that the dogs' skull is pretty tough he's definitely NOT a marksman and just made the dog more pain.

I don't like people who think the best problem-solver is a gun...

That dog must be indestructible! Good for it though.

Cats have nine lives, but they often use them up very quickly. Dogs only have one life, but they have character shields to compensate for that.

My poor cat spirit, aptly named, got hit by a car and wasn't as lucky. He'd had an eye infection as a kitten and was crossing the road to get back to my house whith the sun in his eyes. The treatment for the infection had made him very sensitive to light and he was hit. I hope that a cop with as good aim decides to save that bastard some pain.
