From www.imdb.com:
Lance Bass Slams 'American Idol' As "Cheesy"

'N Sync star Lance Bass has knocked hit reality TV show American Idol - for being too commercial. The boy band star, who serves as a judge on talent search show America's Most Talented Kid, declares he's been put off American Idol because it's become "cheesy." He says, "It's gotten a little too commercialized for me. I don't like how they cheese it up with Ford commercials. It's too Broadway for me. It's like when that '205' guy, Ruben Studdard, and this other girl were singing in front of a mansion in the car. What are they doing? It's like cheesy karaoke videos they're creating. It feels like they're selling out." He adds, "The first season, I loved, and I'm really good friends with the American Idol kids from the first show. I like Kelly Clarkson, Justin Guarini and Tamyra Gray. They're very, very nice. I think the talent of the kids is even better this year. I just hope the kids get to do the stuff they want to do, instead of being told, 'Okay, you're doing this showtune here.'"
The irony is making my head spin.

*snort coughcough snort*

Wouldn't it be nice to be detached from reality and not have to look into the mirror nor remember your own history?

Instead of a sentence by sentence mockery of that article, you could almost go word by word. I'm dumbfounded. :(

But is it as ironic as walking home listening to a song called "Only Happy When It Rains" when it's the hottest day in Belfast for 30 years?

Now, why is he complaining? The only way N*SYNC possibly could have been more commercial is if they advertised products in their songs. Maybe all that space stuff changed him.

Ok, while this is critizism coming from the wrong person, he does have a point, they are having segments on the show, showing them getting a 'Herbal Essense' hair do over thing. (I just don't change the channel when it comes on), but they cut out like 3 minutes of that just to hock merchindice. So, yeah, the astronaut reject had a LITTLE room to talk.

The Nazi propaganda machine probably, but not Hitler himself in person IIRC.
