Having spent part of the weekend in your country, I'd just like to say I take back all the statements I've made in the past regarding the war of 1812 and how we should have conquered you guys then. Canada is a lovely place with much alcohol, refreshingly loose sexual mores, and an exchange rate that lets me blow $125 at the roulette table and not feel guilty about it. Actually, it was $85 at the roulette table and $40 at the bar, but who's counting? I highly recommend, however, that you learn to make better cigarettes. I wasn't thrilled paying $7.50 for a pack of smokes that tasted like they were made out of crabgrass, though to be fair they were made in Montreal so that may have been the fault of the French.

We humbly appreciate your retraction of past statements made against Canada and will gladly accept more of your American dollars pitched into our various vice industries, which we will in turn use to make more celebrity comedians and singers for which we will ship south of the border in bulk freight trains.

I was about to post something funny about the French, but as it turns out my wife is French. Then again, I'm German. And mine is the only French-German relationship on earth where the Germans always surrender first.

$7.50 Canadian, which actually works out to about what I pay in New Jersey for so-called "premium" cigarettes--Marlboros, Parliaments, Camels, etc. The problem is that Canadian cigarettes, according to my experience and that of friends of mine in Buffalo who cross the border often, are terrible--the equivilant to baragain brand American cigarettes, like USA's or Monarchs. To you non-smokers who don't think there's a difference, it's tough to explain. Let's just say that cheap cigarettes taste like what you THINK cigarettes taste like, while good ones don't.

Canadian beer, on the other hand, lives up to its reputation, I'm happy to say. In fact, I drink Labat Blue when I can afford it (it's about $18.00 a case in Jersey and $22.00 a case in Pennsylvania, where I go to school). In Buffalo, where access to beer is an important factor in the quality of life, it's $13.00 a case.

How much is 7.50 Can$ in US $?
Here in Europe (the Euro is roughly 1:1 to the US $) I pay 3 for 1 pack with 18.

I'd say $7.50 Canadian is about $5-$6 US.

$7.50 Canadian is $4.79 US at the current exchange rate.

No wonder my Uncle in Canada was so grateful when I gave him a carton of Camels for Christmas when he was down here 3 years ago.

I could (if I still smoked) get cartons of Marlboros or Winstons for $30 or so.

US cigarette packs contain 20 cigarettes and a carton contains 10 packs.

The closest i've ever been to Canada is Minnesota, my spawning pool. I have only one thing to say about Canada.......

I ve been to Whistler BC twice. Once in 98 and once in 00. I wanted to go this last winter but my dumb ass friend bought a new car and couldnt afford vacation anymore. I could not afford to go by myself.

Anyhoo, I like BC. Vancouver is a nice city, the girls are pretty, Whistler-Blackcomb is a HUGE SKI AREA!

Ive never understood the Canada bashing that Americans like to partake in. Overall, its a cool place.

It is. But the later you wait in the year, the more clothing layers they wear. Eventually it's December and the average hot woman looks like an avocado in a pouch.

The average Canadian male has the ability - and I've seen it done, and it's hilarious - to look at a woman wearing 3-inch-thick snow boots, snow pants, long underwear, jeans, long socks, a tee-shirt, a sweater, a liner jacket and a parka you could camp out in, and say, "Whoa...she's got a hot figure."

I'd like to go sooner, but October is when my fall break starts, and since Toronto is about 7 hours away from me, I can't just go up for a weekend. Ah well. I can always go up next summer, too, and check out the moving scenery.
