This coming Monday will be the last time I get to post here till after I complete Basic Training/Technical School for the Air Force Reserve.

I just wanted to say that it has been a pleasure being able to associate with such fine individuals. Everyone take care of yourselves......

How long will you be away? ESB was away for 4 months, IIRC. Anyway, we'll miss you.

And da big flat end of the gun is for bashing them in the heads.

Good luck at training, hopefully you'll get through it in one piece and then get specialized training for something interesting. And keep our advice in mind should the enemy paratroopers come drifting down.

If you get a call in for a JDAM make sure that they haven't replaced the batteries and read you their own coordinates. :D

Best of luck to you, Airman. Remember, don't take things too seriously and just follow orders.

It'll be four months presuming everything goes right. If its anything like the Army's messed up system, he'll be cooling his heels for at least a week at reception, before going to his basic training group. After that, an unknown delay period will likely result between him arriving at his advanced training, and a class actually being available. Apart from that, injuries, family emergencies, or his roommates getting caught doing something hideously wrong could easily delay things further, in addition to any stupidity he may choose to commit himself.

Dude, BMT is only 6 and a half weeks, wheres the extra 2 months come from?

Also, good luck. Which position are you trying to get? After I get my bachelors I'm probably going to go into the Air Force too, in aero/astronautical engineering.

My technical school training is 10 weeks. I'm mostly going in for the basic training and school funding. I want to be a police officer and I've been told by a whole lot of people that having military basic training under your belt really helps one to reach that goal.
