GAAAHHHH!
Ok, a little dawg, filthy, hungry, very thirsty came up to the house today. He's adorable, calm and gets along with our dog. But we really can't afford upkeep for two dogs. :(
What would you do??? I've called ASPCA and they've directed me to animal control. Haven't called yet. Advice, please......

Can you drive him down to the Humane Society and drop him off?

Really the only option. Taking in a dog of the street even if it's not already strain of your budget rapidly can be if it has health problems.

If you can, try and find a family that wants him. Put up "Found Dog" flyers.

You might be able to take him to a police station as well.

I do believe I've found an adoptive family. He followed them home from our place, and they seem very responsible, and the kids love him to death! As do mom and dad. Found out he could possibly come from someone local, left a note on their door. Either or, seems like things may take care of themselves, and if not, off to the animal shelter, but I WILL NOT let this cute little guy be put to sleep, though! Finances will adjust themselves, one way or another.

You might want to check to find out if the puppy has one of those microchip dog tags.

If the neighboors do not want to adopt the puppy, you could try and find a no kill shelter.

Well, glad the guy found the a new home. Too bad for the original owners; their fault for not making him wear a tag I suppose. Hope everything works out with the new guys, and I hope he doesn't run away again. Not all people are as forgiving as you are.

ooooh!

Gareth Evans joke!

Interviewer: "The singaporean ambassadors dog was found?"

Gareth Evans: "No small thanks to the ad I placed in the classifieds. Lost: One maltese terrier cross, answers to the name 'Number 27 with black bean sauce'."
