Why do women eat so much!!!??

I'm not saying women are fatter or anything, NOTHING like that.



They just seem to have an appetite that shows itself more often than men do.

Now fat men might have even bigger appetites, but that could be tied in with their obesity. No, I mean appetite in general. Women just seem to want to eat more...umm...well that's just what it seems.

Because I'm an athlete. Because I'm a big girl. Because I can eat as much as I please without gaining weight. Do I need any more reasons to eat a lot?

I cannot honestly say they are much more different then men, when they want to be. Sometimes women tend to not eat as much, but I have never seen any decrease in eating habits amongst them.

I mean I dunno, maybe you've seen differently, but most women I know tend to eat just as normal as guys.

Hell most women I've dated have had just as healthly appetites as I have.

I would love to know what you base this on. Everywhere I've been, men handily out-eat women.

All of the men I know eat more than their wives/girlfriends.

Perhaps you are referring to the "comfort food" syndrome, where women sometimes eat food that they know is bad for them because they're feeling depressed or stressed out? That seems to be an unusual trait of women; men eat more, but we eat just because we're pigs, not because we're depressed.

Don't worry about it, I'm not ticked at you or anything, those are just the reasons I eat a lot. It's strange actually, when I go out for meals with non-athlete types they're sometimes shocked at the amount of food I order, and I'm wondering how they can keep from fainting living on salads and tiny sandwitches. Who knows?

And just to further D. Wong's point, next time you go to "Hometown Buffet," you will clearly see more men fatties than women fatties.

One of my best guy friends has a favourite saying. It doesn't matter how recently or how much he's just eaten; if someone suggests going out to get food, cooking something, or any other type of food consumption known to mankind, he always says the same thing: "I could eat."

I would say two things:


1. Personal experience.


2. Women have bigger percentage of body fat ratio than men (obesity excluded). And I think it has something to do with the body wanting more body fat cause having a certain level of body fat makes childbearing much easier or something if the woman does go into childbearing.


I was wondering if there was another or more general reason.

Make that all but one. My GF eats more than I do, then again she's about the same size as I am and even though she's not swimming competetively anymore she's still more active and in better shape than me.

No real hole...but it was just one of those question like *Why do you think Men are just sex starved maniacs and women hold back?*

It is something that seemingly at times filters as some pop culture rumor but really has no true bearing and no one knows where it came from.

Maybe he just lives in that part of the country where the women are the fat pigs, and the men are always worried about their hair and their nails and how much they eat.

But yeah, come on.. guys out eat girls hands-down.. unless she's a big fat chick..

But girls have a HUGE sweet tooth for chocolate and ice cream.
