Well, I finally got my taxes done. And ... I owe the government money.
AAAAAAAAAARRRRGGGHHH!!!!!!
I still can't believe I'm actually paying even more money to support that fucking asshole Jean Chretien!!!!!
With Toronto reeling with the economic impact of the SARS outbreak, Jean Chretien went for a TEN DAY GOLFING VACATION IN THE CARIBBEAN. We needed Rudy Guiliani, and we got Fred fucking Couples.
When he came back, he promised $10 million in aid. $10 million for a fucking city of 5 million people!!! That's TWO FUCKING DOLLARS PER PERSON. But guess what happened when there was an ice storm in his native province of French-speaking Quebec! Yes, he found $717 million. Goddamned corrupt cronyist "Quebec first" motherfucking piece of shit sunuvabitch hatfucker dipshit weasel senile old lily-livered snake-tongued corrupt asshole ...
And I have to cough up more money to support him. Grrrrrrrr ....

Whoa. That fucking sucks. I had to pay the state a whopping $23 bucks. That was on account of accounting. Grr. How much do you owe anyways. It must be something substantial to be bitching about it. Then again, who am I kidding. If you have to drive on a road with potholes, paying the government more money is shitty anyways.

Only about a hundred bucks. It's the principle of the thing more than the quantity of money. I have NOT gotten good value for my tax dollar, and to pay even a dime more is piling insult upon injury.

Scribble out your hundred dollar check on a pair of old undies complete with the brown streak and send her on in to the Canadian IRS.

D. Wong, count your blessings. At least your President does not want to use your taxes for church activities.

Life has only two constants: death and taxes.
And that 100 dollars I'm assuming is "federal" Candian tax? Is that monthly or yearly?

Do Americans or Canadians pay more tax?

Canadians pay more, although the difference is not that stark and it depends on your income and what kind of deductions you can take (you know how taxes are; the answer to every goddamned question is always "it depends").
Most of our tax burden is due to debt maintenance and the maintenance of the bloated government infrastructure. Contrary to popular belief, our national health care outlay is actually much smaller per capita than the American cost even though it offers universal coverage, because the US system covers welfare recipients and the elderly, who use up most health care costs anyway (and when you add the exorbitant pay of American doctors and the ridiculous cost of malpractice insurance into the equation, it's not hard to see why you end up paying more for partial coverage than we pay for universal coverage).
But my gripe is with the way the federal government pisses away money on programs which do little or nothing for the average person, unlike health care. Programs like his billion-dollar gun-registry database (a system which should have taken tens of millions at
most), his endless state welfare to Quebec, and thinly disguised cronyist repayment schemes like HDRC enlarge the government and suck up the money that SHOULD be going to debt repayment, military upkeep, infrastructure, etc.

IIRC, was that registry program not somewhere around 700
times over-budget?

How is that even possible without some sort of mass stupidity or corruption?

Thats the most amazing slice of pork I think I've ever seen.......how the fuck do you spend billions of dollars on a godforsaken
registry I mean, shit, all you need are a few PC's a server with a database set-up and about two dozen data pushers, a supervisor, stir, add milk, and reduce to a simmer and POOF! Instant gun registry........

ONLY a hundred bucks. Lucky fucker. I KNOW you make more money than I do and I STILL have to pay a fuckload more than you. But, you have 2 dependants and probably own your house. But, I'm not having kids just for a tax break.
I'm pretty sure middle class America pays much more in taxes than all of Canada put together. We get screwed.

That we do, that we do, and to top it off, Social SEcurity will start royally fucking people over in about ten years, corporate scandals are causing people to lose their retirements, health care expenses are on the rise, and the beloved fuel prices go up at will. Best part about that is that once they go up and stay up for awhile, the companies get the bright idea of keeping them up at that level since we get accustomed to paying that much.
Rich people are getting richer though as our President works to continue upon Reagans work and help the rich get richer while the poor and middle class get fucked over and out.

100$ income tax per month? or 100$ extra per year?

You guys know that if you win a new car or something like that in say, a contest or win prizes on a game show YOU GOTTA PAY TAXES ON THOSE?
You know that Los Angeles County wants to impose another 5% Sin Tax on alcohol? This means that, when attending a baseball game at Dodger Stadium, you can buy a ticket (starting at $6) cheaper than a BEER (starting at $7).
You know that professional atheletes who play against any Minnesota franchise at a Minnesota Venue must pay Income Tax in that state? Thats a state law and a bullshit one at that, since it claims that those players are therefore earning income in that state even though noMinnesota bsiness or franchise is paying them the money, but rather, the players own franchise from out of state is paying them.

$100 for the year. We do an annual tax return due on April 30, and if we're short we have to pay them the difference at that time, just like you do on April 15.
