Bama Fires Mike Price

After only four months as the head coach of Alabama's football team, and without having coached a single game, Mike Price, the former coach for Wazzu, was
fired. I wonder if Wazzu will take him back...

I thought they over-reacted a bit. He only went to a strip club...in Florida.
Considering that they are on probation I'm not sure they'll be able to find a proven replacement real easily. It might not be difficult but after reading what a former coach's parents went through, being the coach of the Tide better be a dream of yours or don't bother.

Jesus, what are you guys gonna do now? Now, some poor new coach gets less than four months to plan Bama's 2003 season his own way.

So do I, which leads me to believe there is more to this story than what we're being told. On his replacement, my guess is that a new coach was picked before Price learned he'd got the ax. Bama always has been picky -- they seem to hold every coach up to the standard set by Paul "Bear" Bryant, and those will
never be easy shoes to fill...

Shit. Alabama isn't necessarily the ones that do that. It's the fans for the most part that always make the comparison. It's always cropping up in an Alabama coach discussion. Whether it's past coaches or present.

I think this is a case of jumping on the bandwagon. Universities are tring to look as tough as which ever one fired Bobby Knight.

'Bama is a unique case here, if the coach of say Tennessee got caught doing the same thing I doubt he'd be fired.
