As it is with all good Mexicans, I have been thinking about this date, the anniversary of the Battle of Puebla. Comments? Info on the battle? Reaction to the fact that it ISN'T Mexican Independance day? Any comparable battles that the U.S. experienced(Sometime in 1812, methinks)?
If not, I will not mind if this thread dies faster then the fifth Crusade.

Yay, I'm so glad this wasn't a, "Hurrah for Mexican Independance!" thread, because I would hate to have to be annoying and explain the true origins of the holiday. So, yay for you, Darth Gojira, for being educated and such. :D

Ironic that many of us bitch about an influx of immigrants from a nation that loves us.

Still. viva el Cinco de Mayo, mothafucka!

In honor of Cinco de Mayo, my family went to Taco Bell. Quite a way to celebrate, isn't it?

And also, not too long ago, by brother got Cinco de Mayo and Mardi Gras mixed up, not realizing that Mardi Gras was back in March, the day before Lent started.

I like Mexicans just fine. It's not like they're stealing my coveted toilet cleaning jobs, and I do so love Latin women...

Well maybe everyone who has handed the french their asses in the past should pick up on this holiday, and celebrate, perferably by banging a hot French Chick after downing some Cervasa....

Can I ask for a moment to consider my poor man, who, not only had to work extra shifts this weekend due to one f the other bartenders breaking his hand (in a playfight, of all things), but who had to work, not only in Covent Garden on Bank Holiday Monday, but in a Mexican restaurant on Cinco de Mayo.
AND who had to spend all night listening to a Mariachi band.

PS, RI, is it still your birthday?

Ah, but this is Mexico we're talking about. The original civs didn't even have catapaults. A bunch of TEXANS handed their ass to them(Shields up!)
P.S. The Corsicans were beaten by the French, as were the Brits at Orleans(One of the only French victories in the entire war). :P

Which state? My mum's from Michuacan and a descended of the few tribes that whipped the Aztecs, the tiny Tarascans.
