I take it WAWA is the name of a local chain of convenience stores? They jack up the prices because they can. Did you buy the can anyway?

My Honeybun jumped 10 cents from 50 to 60 cents........and it is only 4"x2"!!!!!

Plus a fucking Baby Ruth bar or any other are now 70 cents!!!!!!!!! Damn I remember they were just a nice number 50 cents and that was about a decade ago....

Sodas are a buck a can at my school, a buck and a quarter for a bottle.

And at the Hofstra Deli...man, I got a sandwich and a soda and it cose me like eight fucking dollars.

Coke - 17 oz. (500 mL) is $1.75 on campus.
Miller Lite is 2.75 during happy hour and $3.25 during regular hours at the sports bar. GRRRRRRRRRR!

What the hell is a WAWA? A company name? That sounds worse than Ding Ding Dang.

Do you intend to continue buying drinks there? If you do, then its quite clear why, you charge what people will pay. Though its not like your town is lacking in alternatives.

Its awesome name makes up for it.

The deli down from our new office charges 5 bucks for a ham and cheese sub, and 3 bucks for a bottle of soda.
That said, the sandwhiches there are VERY good. Too bad it's so goddamned expensive.

Diamond Shamrock down the street from me sells candy bars 2 for $1. Cans of soda are $.35....and most of theirl 20oz bottles of soda are around $1.09!

Dang.... Here at school, bottles of coke are .75-1.00, and cans are ~.60. You can buy any candy bar for .55 cents, and a sandwich for 1.50-2.50, depending on the type.

Umm, no. You're going to hate me, but I can still get a can of the same for half that, maybe less.

Of course, you are living in the Northeast, and everything up there is jacked up.

Wawa and Sheetz have both raised their prices for food and drinks. A bottle of water runs $1.70. But its probably how they make up for dirt cheap gas.

Well that sucks, guess I'll bring my own drinks next time I'm up there. A place two blocks from me sells 2 liter bottles for 1.79 or so.

Buy a case of 24 at the local warehouse superstore. A can works out for me to be $0.31 CDN ($0.22 US). You could even bring them to your school and sell them to your friends for a profit, undercutting the school's monopoly price.

A couple people tried that at my high school. I believe they were told to stop, because they were endangering the safety of the students ("How do we know your not posioning the drinks?"). I think one was suspended.

Schools can be extremely abusive monopolies (especially concerning food), employing tactics that MS look like a saint.
