Pop up ads are like N'Sync, everybodys doing it, but nobodys admiting to it. There should be pop up ads for pop up blockers. I know my mom goes to pop up ads all the time. She hella likes em, she says they're so convinent and helpful -_-. I come back to the computer and theres like 90 spyware programs on my computer, bah.
Has anybody seen that pop up ad that comes up and its like " BREAKING NEW SOFTWEAR DOWNLOAD NOW! ( or something along those lines ) ... and you close it or click no... then a few seconds later, another window flies open that says " WHOOPS! YOU FORGOT TO CLICK YES! " and has a picture of the thing you thought you just got rid of ? .... i hate that thing on so many levels -_-

--The fact of the matter is popups and banners work for two reasons:
1. You only need 1 in thousands to respond for it to be entirely worthwhile.
2. Getting your name out so that later people remember your company exists when they are looking for your product is extremely valuable.
-Personally, I counter this by actively hating anything I see on popups and actively avoiding the advertised good or service.
-There are good popups though. Bearshare seems to have one that comes with the free bearshare. It tells you what it is doing, doesn't install spyware, and if I want I can kill it. However, I don't kill it because I wish to support good advertisement that supports free stuff for me.

Does anybody get the little stop sign that screams, "STOP POP UPs LIKE THIS ONE!" and then gives you the option to go to a website that sells crappy pop up blockers, and gives you an option saying, "I like this pop up". There's no way you can close the damned thing without going into your task list and terminating the fucker manually.

I've been getting a LOT of Spam email about Spam blockers. Isn't that just ironic?

As if you'll trust spam blockers from spammers? Just like pop-up ads for pop-up blockers.

It's a conspiracy by the popup brocker software companies, so you have to buy their product. It's just like Easter and Christmas, manufactured by coporate America.

I'm having a hard time envisioning something that could get me to overcome my bias against popups to even think about giving them my business.

Hey, if the internet wants me to spy on beautiful women, who am I to object? You can never have enough spycams. Or mortgages. Or Nigerian real estate money or whatever.
