So, is anyone here apart of the SCA or something along those lines? Both my parents used to be and a bunch of my friends are, though I've not really developed much of a taste for it, though it does appear a good time is had by all involving large amounts of alcoholic beverages and unrealistically skimpy garb that many of the women wear (this is a double edged sword). So, what are opinions?

Took me a minute to realise where I saw the name in the thread title. Found a site related to them on "Gode Cookery", sounded like they eat well at their functions.

From my experiences with them, they do eat very well. The events I've attended had very talented chiefs working the kitchens.

Messed around with it for a while and knew a few members, but it was never really something I felt overwhelmingly drawn to.

SCA is pretty big around here. They go to cons and put on wonderful swordwork demonstrations. Never thought of joining myself, though.
