Coming from me, this may sound stupid..

But I am using WinXP (Which I hate VERY MUCH) and I can't figure out how to change the default Internet Browser. I have IE and AOHell (and yes, I am prefectly happy with IE, so you can bite me if you don't like it ~ and rest assured, I'll bite back). So anyways, how do I change the default browser from AOHell to IE?

Start up IE, it'll ask if you want it to be the default browser, click "yes". Problem solved.

Personally, that's the lesser of two-evils, get Mozilla or Opera at the very least.

It WON'T ask me that, though....

Internet options->Programs-> check the checkbox "Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser".

If that doesnt work, I'll dig up the registery settings to reenable that & manuelly change it.

Did that, and it didn't work. :?

[EDIT] THat is, I checked the box, and nothing popped up when I ran IE.

That should be it though, if it doesn't ask automatically then doing it manually should work, if not, it's another MS cock-up.

IE already is the default browser. It's probably AOL's internal IE browser. Check your AOL settings.

....? I'm on DSL, though.. What happens is if I'm in a Messenger, it wants to open up AOL rather than another IE window.. I don't need an ISP...

Dude, think. AOL is probably set as your default browser and the thing about it is that it uses IE. Check your AOL settings. It doesn't matter if you use AOL as an ISP.

Service Pack 1, which is a collection of various fixes and sometimes improvements. Grab it here.

If you have the corporate edition and your key starts with FCKGW, SP1 will not install. You have been warned.

Windows 2000 works for me, but it's not my choice on what this comp uses, cos it's not my comp [shakes fist]
