Okay "Pretty Woman" just started on CH3 here.

I have seen it to many times so now I just have one question is there a thing like a happy hooker?

Also I did a trip to Thailand 1 year ago.

Those girls come cheap for a "Falang" = non Thai

Lets just say that if you are willing to risk your life girls is not a problem there.

I did't have a GF at that time but I did not pick up any bar girl in Thati mainly because the HIV/AIDS risk.

Back to the question. Juila's character Vivian is the artypical of a "Happy Hooker"...

Now is there sutch a thing or not?

/edit/
Doh I meant to type. The Thai Girls most defenetly did not seem like the happy type...

I'd say that the higher class of hooker, the kind you find in classy hotels are happy in their work. I read an atricle on them. A large majority of them are real nymphos and they'd do it with the customer anyway so why not get paid. The kind you'd see on the street are no happy i'd guess. Most are forced against their will to do those things and they sure don't have a say who they fuck unlike the higher class who pick and chose.

I was under the impression that Robert's character was not happy living as a hooker. She was doing it because it paid the bills. Of course it would be a good idea for a hooker to at least act happy towards their customers, as most men would probably want to bang someone with a smile on their face.

Robert's character was more of the "hooker with a heart of gold" type, I think.

But in general, most prostitutes aren't like they are on TV and in the movies.

Somewhat related to the OP: My Playwriting I instructor, Cyndi Coyne, is an actress who works primarily in theatre. She once said that she likes playing hookers because they're often interesting characters.

Last night I went to see the play The Secret of Blue, which she wrote (sat two seats to the left of her). Three of the characters were prostitutes, and the show was really good.

She was recently in an episode of Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

[end semi-hijack] (Sorry Talen  )

In amsterdam the only proper hooker is a legal hooker. They have designated places of work, medical insurance, and are taxed. Its just like any job. Only you get fucked by someone of your choosing, not your company.

Well, most Australian states have legalised brothels etc, but street-walking is still illegal.

I doubt there is much happiness among most sex workers, although I think many guys would like to "believe" they make a hooker or stripper happy.
Seems to be a fairly common fantasy.

We aim to please. We don't like being incapable of make others happy. :P

i never understood why that movie was so popular, especially among women. Its about a whore and the scumbag that paid to fuck her.
