I can't get on to the main bbs. And everytime I tell it to mark all topics read and go back to the index, IT LOGS ME OUT! WTF is the problem now? MJ needs to just smack that java upside the head and make it go away!
[edit] And I can't spell today either!

Right, and it wouldn't let me do *anything* earlier.. I had to COMEPLETELY shut down Mozilla (which is set to the BBS because it's one of exactly two things I use Mozilla for) and restart it before I could do anything that wouldn't time out on the board. Wtf is going on?

It crapped out on me too. I just managed to get back on. Try again now.

Funny, the site shut down on me for about 5 minutes as well.

I shut down netscape and reloaded it... that has worked so far. The board has been really slow for me the past couple of days too. Maybe Lord MJ is doing some work on the server?

Actually, I haven't moved it back to Lord MJ's server yet. He says he's fixed his problems, and I'd like to get it off my home network, because I'm running dynamic DNS so a reconnect forces an IP address remapping, which might take 5 minutes. I keep meaning to move it back early in the morning, but I never wake up in time to do it before I go to work.

I was copying a 15GB file from one machine to another at the time. That saturated the network and slaughtered the connection performance. To remedy that situation, I discovered that I can manually force my network card into 10Mbps mode, so it doesn't saturate the 100Mbps LAN. So I am now able to copy huge files without killing the network performance.
I'd still like to try getting it back on MJ's server though, because I know it's annoying when there's a reconnect and it takes 5 minutes to adjust to the new IP address.

Seriously Mike, I find that its run so much more smoothly since its been on your home network, I rarely ran into the glitches that sometimes plague the board while on MJ's server.

I'll back Stravo to the hilt on this one. Ever since you started running it off your server, the board has been running like a buttered snake on ice - very slick.
