READ THIS FOR INFO ON THE LITTLE STARS, PEOPLE.

You may notice little yellow stars under peoples' names. These stars are awarded for length of time on the board (one star for each yearly quarter, ie- 3 month period), not for post counts. It's a mod I just added to the board because I thought it would be neat. Just FYI.
Congrats, you actually noticed the thread this time. Bravo. ~Dalton

Why do I have the sudden urge to refer to you as 'Deputy Wong' now?

Was wondering about that.

Draw, pardner!
EDIT: Isn't this a bit redundant if you can see the person's reg date anyway?

How come Cyborg Stan doesn't have any? He joined 10 Dec 2002, which is before, for instance, Montcalm, who joined 15 Jan 2003, and has one star.

Ah, but this way, it is highlighted with shiny yellow stars. You have obviously forgotten the cardinal rule that shiny things are better.

Good question. I'll have to figure out why the mod didn't work in his case. It seems to work as advertised for everyone else.

My only beef is that when you use the SubSilver theme the yellow stars don't look too good, but otherwise an excellent idea.
You could also use Imperial rank badges

True. Anyone who's got a good-looking 12-pixel high icon with a transparent background can always offer it as a replacement
[EDIT: actually, I can assign a different star icon for each theme, so I changed the subSilver star icon to one that should look better on a bright background]
BTW, I figured out that Cyborg Stan's stars weren't showing up because there's a 250-post threshold before the stars kick in. I lowered that threshold to 100 and his stars show up now.
And yes, Nova, cases like yours
are the reason I added the mod. I thought there should be some kind of merit badge handed out for people who have been around for a long time, even if they haven't posted a ton of stuff.

Ah, yes. My bad

I have a theory about that. The stars go by when you first started posting, not when you registered. Stan regged in December but never posted until January.
EDIT: Wrong in this case
