Vympel and I had been tossing around the idea of a gathering somewhere later in the year for any Aussie members of SDnet/ASVS who were interested...

So - expressions of interest and/or recommendations for location?

I recommend Sydney, it's more or less central to the country. City wise anyway, for true centricity we could all go to Alice Springs.

Sydney is good. We can start a pub crawl from the Rocks and work our way inside.

Just had a look at the Virgin Blue website, and it appears right now as though the cheapest return flight from Perth to Sydney is $438 (now that's gonna make a dint in most people's budget).

IIRC, yes, quite a few here and there. But ggs is over at Perth, and I don't remember any dirt cheap flights being offered by anyone between Perth and Sydney.

$438 sure isnt cheap for me. I'm a student, and in typical fashion not rich.

Then add into the cost of living for even a few days there, and the price just keeps going up :(

Stupid city located in the middle of nowere
