What sort of music do you like to dance to? Do you prefer slow dancing , or fast dancing?
I like techno, but the hip-hop type shit they play at most school dances these days is fine by me.
I took a lesson or two of swing, and I'm not very good, but it is by far the most fun you can have with another person in public without breaking any laws

Techno. REAL techno, the kind where you're playing it in your car and the nice officer pulls you over for doing 140 in a 35.

The kind that makes me look the least foolish as well as get inappropriately close to a female. I guess that would be slow.

I hate dancing, if it doesnt include extremely close giration.
Otherwise, i just headbang/mosh, or similar.

That brings back memories of the speeding ticket last fall... 192BPM, very high base, no traffic... Can we say "warp drive engaged"?

Soulful uplifting disco driven house music building into deep rooted funky humdingers.

Generally it takes a good/cheesy song to get me dancing and then i'll just continue till i'm tired or a shit song come on. Recently i have started to get "dancing" to some hiop-hop stuff
Examples of good/cheesy:
YMCA - Village people (Yes i dance to this song, i can't help it!)
Love Really hurts without you - Billy Ocean/Joel (Which Billy is it?)
My First, My Last, My Everything - Barry White
Billy Jean - Michael Jackson
Build Me Up Buttercup - The Foundations (One of the Ultimate Songs IMO)
<Generqally these are songs that i'll request, apart from YMCA, i just let that be spontaneus>
Also The Makerana (sp) if i'm drunk
Examples of shit songs:
Dancing Queen - ABBA
Saturday Night - Wigfield
The Makerana if i'm sober
My Brothers Universal Rule Of Shit Songs: If it only has girls dancing to it it's shit!

I can do the Macarena only when drunk. I never dance unless its a slow song and i have some cute looking person to take the bad look off me. When i'm drunk i seem to forget the fact that i can't dance and shouldn't dance in public. But thats ok because theres a room full of people exactly the same way. If i ever get that chance i'll tell ya'll about the dancing on a table in Belgium.

No middle ground... Either something slow, or really rapid.
Not that I can dance anyways...

For slow dancing i prefer:
Wonderful Tonite- Eric Clapton
Hello - Lionel Ritchie
2 Out of Three Ain't Bad - Meatloaf

Not trying to thread jack... but you can read all the MT's hella fast, and then you're stuck waiting for the next one to come out. Penny Arcade is just random, so theres less anticipation involved ....

Most stuff. A lot of "dance" music, mostly the non-commercial stuff. Also a bit of industrial-gothic can be fun. I also like some of the good old-skool hip-hop, House of Pain, Run DMC etc...
