My grandfather served as a mechanic in the same B-58 squadren that John Denver's dad was flying in at the time. Also, aparently John Denver's original last name was Ducheldorf (sp?).
In Thailand, they play a version of softball called "Beer Softball." Every player on the field, including the batter, has to play the game while drinking from a can of beer in their hand.

My grandfather was the chief photographer for the New York Daily News for a long time. He taught me photography and how to catch fish with peanut butter (long story
) before he died when I was eight.

My Italian (maternal) grandmother taught me that someone half your height and twice your age can still intimidate you.
My paternal grandmother (deceased) taught me that even the elderly can appreciate dirty jokes and baseball.
I never met my grandfathers; they both died before I was born. Whatever wisdom I get from them was trickled down to my parents first.

We used to play that version of softball at university. Hence the name "beer league".
Back on topic, from my Italian grandparents I was shown how to make wine from grapes but I'm never going to go through the hassle of crushing and fermenting. I'll just go purchase the juice!

My grandparents showed me what I don't want to be when I'm their age.
